"Pride paving is a great company to work for and who takes pride in their work. I worked as a project manager for pride paving and can say all the people I worked with are hard working and put 110% into their work in the field and while communicating with customers. You won't regret hiring them."

"Crew arrived on time, were very efficient, did a great job (no asphalt "oopsies"), left our project clean, and so far (2 months) the slurry is holding up better than expected compared to previous slurry jobs we've had completed. Project was private drive for 4 homes, about 4,000 sf. Crew cleaned driveway w/blower, sealed cracks, laid down quality slurry mix, and shaved down a couple asphalt bumps (due to buried pipes) to level out the FS. All-in-all a quality job and will look forward to having Landmark Paving come back in 3 years or so to repeat same."

"I usually don't use the cliche "we couldn't be happier," but we really couldn't be happier with our new paver driveway installed by Falkon. We solicited three bids from companies found on Angie's list. One estimate was really high. A second estimate seemed too good (low) to be true. Based on the Angie's List ratings, I expected Falkon to be about halfway between the two, but the Falkon was almost the same as the "too good to be true" estimate. After researching more and viewing the Falkon website which included past project photos, we selected Falkon for the project. Honestly, at first, I thought Val kind of rushed through the estimate/walkthrough, especially when compared to the experience I had with the other two contractors we spoke with. I'm not saying this to complain. I'm bringing this up to suggest that if you have a similar experience/feeling, don't let that scare you away. Val was always responsive to our needs throughout the decision-making process and the actual project. He never blew us off or made us feel like we were bothering him. Besides, what really counted was the execution of the project and the results. Both were outstanding. Val's crew appeared very experienced. They were punctual and professional. The progress they made each day was phenomenal. We have a pretty large driveway - approximately 1200 square feet with some curving on the borders. Day 1 - Demolished and removed/hauled away old asphalt driveway. Graded soil. Day 2 - Placed underlayments and compacted/graded again Day 3 - Placed all pavers - except for border. Day 4 - Placed bordering pavers and cut inner pavers meeting the border. We requested angled pattern requiring more (and angled) cuts. (By the way, we love the angled paver pattern. Worth the extra effort and cost.) Day. 5 - Filled in gaps between pavers. (about half day). Day 6 - Originally planned, but not needed because everything was completed on Day 5. We highly recommend Falkon Construction for any paver project you are considering."

"Overall job was performed satisfactorily although I thought communication could have been better. The asphalt portion of the job was scheduled to be completed in one day, however, by mid-afternoon the workers had left and the job was not finished. I had to be proactive and contact the company to find out if installation was still going to take place that day or if it would move to the next day. I was told it would move to the next day which was ok. I asked if they could place a couple of orange safety cones next to the demolition area overnight since it was in an area where there was frequent foot traffic; this was agreed. When I returned to the job site late that night no cones were present.
The overall quality of the asphalt work was satisfactory, the concrete work was excellent.
I know this was a small job and think perhaps communication might be better with larger jobs / clients."

"I highly recommend working with Steve. We did a private road new asphalt paving project, on about 1/6th of a mile, uphill, curving dirt road. In a few words: reliable, responsive, customer service oriented, great value, professional, experienced, family business, long standing loyal employees. He saved me nearly 50% on cost compared with other bids because he capitalized on good deals and timing with other jobs and passed material savings to me rather than pocketing it. He is an honest to goodness hard worker and values a strong business relationship. He wants the work. He is always on time. Always replies to messages right away. His staff work very hard and are highly skilled. It is fun to watch! He is polite and easy to work with. His team is clean and professional. There were a few issues with the paving in a few spots, but Steve brought his entire team back and fixed it right up. He never makes excuses and gets the job done. They are very well equipped and knowledgeable. Steve took care of everything. Called the city for permission, prepped the road, worked with our other contractors to handle scheduling, even spoke with neighbors to ensure everyone is okay with a couple days of minor disruption. Payments are easy to make. Invoices are simple and straight to the point. No drama. I plan to hire him again for maintenance, but also for a few other future projects. Hands down, one of the best hassle free contract experiences I have ever experienced. I cannot say enough good things! Hire Steve, he will take care of you."

"Pedro and his crew are paving artisans. This is no exaggeration! With over 35 years of construction experience I have never had a paver lay pavement down with a 2 foot level to insure proper grade is met. And this is exactly what they did. The process is by no means production work, but when its done there can be no arguing it is correct. Pedro, Thank you."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Rowland Heights, CA

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
