"We received one bid to install a partial generator access to the house for $1,500 from another electrician.  After accessing Angie's list, we called Jerry at Dependable Electric for a quote.  He came out promptly and proposed a MUCH better solution for less than 1/2 the competitor's cost. <br /> Specifically, he installed a 50 amp generator interlock kit on our existing GE breaker panel and supplied all materials (except the generator).  He installed a power inlet on the exterior of home near the current meter socket location and connected to 2 pole breaker in the existing electrical panel in our basement.  He also supplied a 25? cord set to run between the external power inlet and our generator.  We can now easily disconnect from the eletrical grid, power up our large generator, and run all of the essential components in our home - up to and including our air conditioner.  We could have installed a smaller 30 amp kit for under $600, and this would have powered every critical need except for the air conditioner. <br />"
