"We asked Dan Fendley, who is a landscape designer, Master Gardener, certified arborist and horticultural professional to tell us his solution to our problem. He suggested leveling off the area with sand, and then sod. We agreed and hired him. He gave me a schedule as to when a truckload of sand would arrive (it did on time!). He shoveled the sand into a wheelbarrow, and after several trips to the back yard, he then spread it out onto a 8-10 sq. ft. area. After a couple of days, the scheduled sod arrived (also on time, and freshly cut pieces) and he placed the pieces to cover the area. I was amazed and so pleased to see my back yard level. The grass has taken root and is growing beautifully. Of course I would recommend Dan Fendley for any landscaping project or problem."

I found Bakers in the yellow pages then signed on to Angie's list to get the scoop. My phone call was answered in a polite and professional manner. Although they were not able to come that day they did promise to contact me the following week for an appointment. They also offered to refer me to another company if I had an emergency. The following week I was contacted as promises. An appointment date and time was scheduled On the appointment date I received a confirmation call from them. They arrived at the scheduled time. They checked the entire system and made all necessary repairs I was extremely pleased with this company and would use them again. <br />"

"May Day did an outstanding job from the initial quote to completion of the work. The grass in our front and backyard was struggling, with many patchy areas. Clay and roots were also an issue. Marc reviewed our yard, and then provided us with what we felt was a fair proposal. As requested, he had broken down each element of the proposed work so that we could pick and chose to fit our budget. He also suggested additional items such as underground drainage hose from our rain gutters to a wooded area behind our house for improved drainage. He provided a list of suggested plants for our flower beds, designed for climate and the look of the house/yard. The work proceeded well with the crew. They brought in fill dirt and topsoil, and graded it nicely. This included breaking up some of the areas of clay in the front yard, and making a nice blend with topsoil. in the back yard, he had suggested a gentle slope away from our back patio, which was elevated somewhat from the rest of the backyard. This was done well and looks great. They laid approximately 10,000 SQ FT of sod between the front and back yards. They also prepped the flower beds by removing the roots from the previous shrubs, and installed a variety of plants in a pleasing design. They cut-in the edges of the sod to fit sidewalks and driveways, and around trees. The job looks very professionally done. This work took 7 or 8 business days. The crew cleaned up sidewalks and the driveway at the end of each day. The workers were courteous and respectful of our property. There are a couple of minor issues which Marc has promised to address. We would certainly use May Day again for landscaping needs. We have recommended them to acquaintances."

"We hired Travis because of his creativity and knowledge of pavers. I wasn't sure what we wanted, but Travis' suggestions were spot on and turned out to be beautiful. He was not the least expensive, but definitely worth it! We will be having him build a porch over the new patio...again, his suggestions were classy and perfect. The workers that did the actual install were very respectful and hard working. Just don't be in a hurry with paver install......the rain can delay."

"When I called for a quote, they were very responsive (thanks Boo) and professional. The job required a crane and there is limited access to our property. He thoroughly explained where the crane would have to be located and possible impacts to the area. Their quote was the best of the four we got. We agreed on a date/time. They arrived promptly and completed the job in about four hours. They left the area very clean and ended up having very minimal impact on the ground from their crane and trucks. No ruts in the yard or marks from the support pads of the crane like we have had from other services in the past. They even picked up some other limbs from surrounding area that were on the ground that were not from the trees they removed. I recommend them without any reservations and have already gotten another quote to remove some additional trees."

He phoned to schedule a day to do the work, and he and his son arrived exactly when he said they would. They were very cordial. "I was ready to approve the $2,600 proposal then noticed a detail was missing from the proposal that we had discussed. I asked about the missing item and she wanted to add the item, which included 3 stepping stones, in at an additional cost of $30. Tallahassee Nurseries did not seem to want to accommodate me and even though the $2,600 would have amply covered the additional cost of $30 - which should have been included in the first place - I declined. Business must be good if they are willing to lose a $2,600 contract over $30. I had already paid $75 which should have been deducted off of the proposal (and was not) so I am perplexed at this. Maybe this job was not big enough for them."
