"The salesman came to my home and showed me his product and I expressed my concerens and he listen. He explain what could be done and quoted a price. Two weeks later the installers arrived with the windows. They took out the old windows and put in the new and hooked up the alarm system. Next day the finish up crew came and did the needed stucco and said they would return the next day to finish the job. They arrived as scheduled and finished the job. All the way thru this project if I had a question the workers were willing to give me an ans. I also had a number for the salesman and project manager. They were all very neat and cleaned up after themselves.I certainly will use this company again for future projects."

"After nine months working with CC and many ups, downs, and moments of extreme frustration I can honestly say that we are extremely please with the end product provided by CC. In many areas the results were way beyond my expectations which are very high. We demo-ed a low ceiling sloped roof lean-to that contained our only bath and kitchen and replaced it with 2 story 10 foot ceiling camelback containing downstairs bath, kitchen, upstairs master en suite with a side balcony . They did great work on a custom open staircase hand cut from salvaged cypress and barge-board.Castillo took this staircase on at my request and it did not cost me extra. His carpenters did a great job and it has an awesome rustic look that really goes with the feel of the house. We have exposed bargeboard in a room that was not part of the reno. His tile guy did an exceptional job in both bathrooms and on the kitchen backsplash. We had 5 x 3/4 inch heart pine brought in from Georgia for flooring throughout and CC did a great job installing it. One bath has pine tongue and groove walls and ceiling to replicate the construction that was removed. We had to do some tricky maneuvering around the plumbing here and it all worked out nicely. The foundation was well built and the window framing to match the existing house its truly well done inside and out. we have a balcony off the master bedroom and here they built it out in manner that was above and beyond my expectations -- making the floor waterproof to protect the can lighting underneath. We also ended up with a fantastic floored and foamed attic for storage.

All the problems we had with the work including an HDLC issue were eventually addressed to our satisfaction by CC with full approval by HDLC. We did wish the project had been completed in less time but it did include 2 baths and kitchen and some tricky framing. I reccomend CC whole heartedly but it is important with them as well as any contractor to take a strong interest in your job, know the details of you architectural drawings, and to set a firm time-frame in the contract.

Let me stress this turned out awesome and we felt the cost was extremely fair."

FAQs for baseboard installation projects in Saint Bernard, LA

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
