"I hired Jim to install a concrete floor and street approach for my new construction garage project. The finished work looks terrific. Jim followed the architectural plans provided and even suggested changes based on his years of experience that would enhance the longevity of the concrete. The work was completed on schedule and within budget. Jim satisfactorily addressed all questions or concerns that arose during the process. He is a good communicator and a proven professional. I would likely hire Jim again."

"Denis and his team do excellent work, they go over and above expectations, and they get it done in the time frame promised. I started with an interior paint job, then hired them to refinish the hardwood floors because of the great job they did on the walls. The upstairs looked so good when they were finished that I had him bid on the construction in the basement, and I had them complete that project as well. Again, they brought it home exactly as designed and faster than anticipated. They do high quality work and are very easy to work with."

"Meyer construction did everything for me. They smoothed out my yard, removed a lot of brush, put down a few inches of dirt, and then laid the sod all for a reasonable amount! I would definitely use them again! Job well done. Very friendly to work with also. You will not go wrong with using this company!"

"We had an older concrete driveway which curved towards the garage since we have a corner lot. Kevin gave us a bid and worked with us to determine a layout to expand the driveway to integrate the downspouts for drainage, tie in with the front walkway and the side/rear double wide (8') gate along the back side of the garage. The entire job took 4 days (tearout, prep, pour, cut). There were a few off days for Sunday and a full day of rain on Monday. The total final driveway is 1700+ sq ft. Overall, the work was great! Kevin is easy to communicate with and the work crews were professional and as well easy to communicate with. I couldn't think of a better outcome and project experience. I would definitely work with Kevin and the crews again."

"They did an amazing job. Not only did they bust their behinds getting everything done, they were skilled, professional, and explained every step of the the process very well. We even had some complications in the work we needed done, and they took care of it all no problem. If you need concrete work done, you really can't ask for a better company to do it."

"They are pros. From the bid process up until completion of the work they were easy to get a hold of, they answered all our questions, and the quality of the work was top-notch. Our porch looks so much better now, and we'd hire them again for any similar concrete or paving projects.

"Eric and one worker arrived shortly after appointed time window. First,
the two slabs turned out to be connected and were actually one large
slab. When the two of them could not lift the slab but only move it
slightly, they called another worker to try to help; otherwise they
would have to remove the slabs and pour new concrete. With the
additional help of the third person, with great difficulty they were
able to lift the slab enough to wedge in supporting material and
reverse the tilt of the sidewalk also raising the slab enough to correct
a tripping hazard at one end of the slab. While we would have liked to
see the slab lifted a little more than they were able to raise it, they
were able to accomplish our goal of reversing the flow of water runoff
and  improving the situation overall. The patching they did in the
garage floor also corrected both of those areas very satisfactorily. I
felt Eric and his workers did everything they could with the sidewalk
slabs and raised them as far as they were capable of doing so. They
cleaned up their work areas well, replacing decorative rock that had
been disturbed and even taking time to replant some flowers that were in
their way and had to be removed!

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Saint-louis, MO

Whether terrazzo is better than porcelain or ceramic tiles for a kitchen or bathroom floor depends on your design preference. Terrazzo can last a long time, but so can a properly installed ceramic tile floor. According to the National Association of Home Builders, the lifespan of a ceramic tile floor is 75 to 100 years, similar to terrazzo.

You should clean terrazzo floors like you would marble, even if there’s no marble in the aggregate. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the polished surface, and steer clear of acidic cleaners like vinegar, which can damage the surface. Instead, use plain water or a neutral cleaner to mop the floor. Then, use a wet vac or squeegee to remove the dirty water. Regular buffing with a soft cloth can help you maintain the shine.

Terrazzo is made by mixing an aggregate like glass or stone with a binder like cement or epoxy. The mix is made and poured into the prepared space you designate. Alternatively, you can purchase prefabricated terrazzo tiles, which consist of similar materials. They’re poured into a mold and cured before installation.

You can add radiant heating under a terrazzo floor, which is an excellent way to combat the naturally cold surface of terrazzo floors. Installing radiant heating costs $1,653 to $6,656. You'll want to install the heating elements under the thin-set epoxy because the layer is thin enough for the warmth to conduct through the floor.

Making your own terrazzo can be a tricky DIY project. The exact mix takes a blend of art and skill to create and requires the expertise of a terrazzo pro. The wrong blend could crack, peel, or break easily, requiring expensive repairs. Finishing and polishing the floor also requires previous experience to achieve a professional appearance. Expect to pay between $200 and $2,500 for the cost of restoring and polishing floors.

Terrazzo flooring is eco-friendly because it is crafted using recycled materials such as glass, marble, and polished metal, and its epoxy binder emits no VOCs once cured. This sustainable manufacturing approach minimizes waste and supports green building practices. Homeowners gain an attractive flooring option, contributing to healthier indoor air quality and environmental conservation.
