"I found Floors by James on Angies List and selected based on the reviews. Before the install, James came for measurements.  He arrived, showed me his certifications, explained the process, and took measurements.  While I had him measure other areas of my home, I indicated to him that I would split the work into several jobs  - he had no problem with this.  Since I planned to install wood plank style tile, I made sure that we discussed the layout - in my research, I liked the random layout the best.  We agreed that this would be the style used for the install.  James sent his estimate and we later agreed on an install date for the first section.  The estimate included taking up and disposal of the carpet which was being replaced.  He also provided me details on materials to purchase (amount of tile, mortar, and grout). <br /> <br /> James was there through the entire install.  He was very meticulous about the placement of the tiles to ensure they lined up.  He had a helper who did some tile laying, but mostly kept the materials close by while he worked.  The first two days were spent setting tile with the third and last day for grout.  James is very personable - several times during the install, I would ask him how things were and details on his technique.  He was more than willing to share while he worked. After living with the current installation for a few months, I plan to call him back for the next section."

"Abbey Carpet & Floor installed wood floors and carpet - amazing work! The installers were very friendly and made sure they took great care of the materials being installed. Ravi was also very nice - great customer service every time I went there. They made suggestions and got me what I needed to match the decor of each room. Their theater room flooring selection was perfect!"

"It went very well considering how disruptive this kind of work can be to the normal household routine for a family of four (including two pets!). The installers had a plan of what they were going to do each day and worked will us to ensure minimal disruptions. They were very aware of how disruptive the process is for a family and they went our of their way to minimize the chaos! Daily they reorganized their work areas. Sweep the work areas including all paths in and out of the house. Removed any trash and debris daily from our home. <br /> A couple of times each week, Carpet One would call and ask how things where going and addressed any concerns we had. They're number one concern was that we were happy with our new flooring and the installation. They quickly reacted to our concerns in such a way that we never felt that we were not their most important customer. I will say that the installation crews that Carpet One used also very customer centered and went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied and happy. And since we had other remodeling contractors working on other projects around the house at the same time, they worked very well with the other crews. The installers even cleaned up after another crew. My wife an I really appreciated it. We are very happy with the results and how awesome our floors look. <br />"

"This is a small company that has been in business for many years in Bentonville, Arkansas. My neighbor had told me that they were good and he was right. First, when I went into their business they had alot of choices and they worked with me to get the choice I wanted for my house. They gave me a date and they started the installation on that date. His installers have worked for him a very long time. I have some heavy furniture in my house and I was concerned about how they could move them. They had no problem and were very careful not to damage anything. I had gotten a quote for another retailer and they wanted an additional $150 just to move my big screen T.V. There was not of that kind of foolishness with this company. I love the job they did for me because they gave me a fair price and installed the carpet quickly and carefully. All this was done by long term employees for his company. I think you would be very happy to use them for your flooring needs. I already have plans to use them in the future."

"Our sales rep (Earl) convinced us to upgrade to the thickest pad and was worth every cent. The installers were punctual and cleaned up after themselves. Very pleased with our experience. <br />"

"The carpeting was done perfectly and they deserve praise for the great job they did <br /> The floor tiling went great everything seemed fine except towards the end didn't show up when said he would when asked to come back and fix a few things. returned fix some minor things then had to come back and fix a tile and it still is not fixed right. I will say this they were a great bunch of guys attitude wise and except for that one tile that seems to be giving them a fit they were very good at there job. <br /> <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Saint-paul, AR

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
