"This company did an excellent job. They were especially careful as they tore out the old kitchen floor and installed a new ceramic tile floor. They were very attentive to detail throughout the entire job. My wife and I were extremely pleased with the installers and the final ceramic tile floor. I would recommend them to anyone."

"Pros:  Joe and his team did a great job.  I appreciated them helping to move the big furniture items out of the space and put it back upon completion of installation.  The flooring looks great!  In addition, the guys cleaned up the dust and materials each day. <br /> Cons:  I had a difficult time getting Joe to commit to a specific date and time.  It seemed that my project was being squeezed in-between other jobs.  I would have preferred to have a firm date and time. <br />"

"As with our carpet cleaning, Amants did a great job cleaning our floors. Always prompt and professional, and more than happy to answer any questions about cleaning process or how to maintain floors in between major cleanings like this. Excellent locally owned company that treats their employees well. All seem to have been with company for many years, and everyone is very friendly. <br />"

"Clark floor came in and refinished our hardwood floors in the dining room, living room, hallway and 2 bedrooms, and put a carpet runner on the stairs.  They also recommended someone who replaces banisters.  They did a fantastic job on the floors and carpet.  The banister was amazing also.  The job took 5 days to complete.  The office staff was amazing and knowledgeable.  I will definitely use them again and recommend them. <br />"

"I worked with Roy and Caleb to determine which carpet was going to work for me and then their installation crew was top notch. They moved all of our furniture and then installed the tile and carpet and then replaced all of the furniture. They were easy to work with, responsive, and knew their trade."

"The area was small with some splashes. The tech dyed the fibers and did an excellent job of matching the color. After the dye dried, some bleached fibers began to show up again. The owner said that this is not uncommon, and the tech came out again at no charge. A few of the fibers were too damaged to take the dye, and he used a marker on these fibers. The carpet looks great! We understand that the fibers treated with a marker will need to be re-touched periodically, but this solution saved us from a much more costly replacement. It was very nice dealing with this company, and the tech was great!"

"Merx arrived on time the first day and made good progress. Some progress was made on the second day but after that the progress was slow.  Most of the issues came from part of the job that was bid to frame up our stairs and finish it against the drywall. Also, there was a real lack of quality around adding baseboards to the new downstairs flooring. A part of our new fiber floor was installed with an obvious slice but left as finished. I felt that after a few days we were second in priority to other jobs and they were not listening to us. On the laminate, we asked to have the trim match existent trim but that was not done and one the the trim came loose the first day. A job that should have been done within 2-3 days took several weeks. A job that I paid money enough to lessen my involvement end up costing me quite a bit fo time and work. "

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Sainte Genevieve, MO

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
