Comment: The project is to add outside stair access to a third floor living space. Some interior and exterior modifications would be necessary so only a very experienced person should take this on. Look at the project ($50 for qualified person with construction time available, to come give a bid), advise, owner can do the cad drawings, you deal with permits and install. All options are open at this point, wood, metal, spiral or straight. The number one consideration is what will visually fit on the home.
