"Erie Homes was great. Ty and Chris shared the information about roofs in a clear and precise way. I love the high quality of the roofing materials and the standards they hold their workers to when placing the roof. Mike called me each step of the way, so I was prepared when the roofing supplies showed up. I even got calls after the beautiful roof was done. Amazing job!"

"He was prompt to return email and came same morning to check my roof. He explained the process and what my roof looked like. It was not needing repairs at this time. I will definitely use in the future.
"

".They showed when they said they would and cleaned everything up. It looks good. I think they provide their customers with thicker/stronger boards to sit on while in the shelter. I also think the shelters should come at least 5.5 to 6 feet tall. Most families have at least one family member or friend that is over 5 feet tall. If we have to stay in it for a hour to several hours, we need to be able to stand up. They were careful with the equipment and quick. I recommend you look for any cracks in your garage around where they will be installing the shelter and driveway, so if you see any cracks once they are finished you can have them fix it. I also recommend that you tell your neighbors that you will be having a shelter installed and ask if they can move their vehicles out of the street. Ground Zero has a very long trailer they pull their equipment on and they need room to turn around on/in the street.
"

"The two roofing technicians told me what they were going to do to repair my roof and set about doing their repairs without delay.
The main supervising technician also climbed up on my house roof and walked all over it to inspect it and see if there might be any other repairs necessary. Then, the technicians removed the faulty flashing which had been improperly installed by my home builder's untrained framer. Shingles which had holes in them were removed and several new asphalt shingles were installed to replace the old singles which had nail holes in them. Next, the old flashing was completely removed and new, higher grade metal flashing was installed to replace the old flashing. Finally, new sealant was applied to make sure that the repaired roof was completely water proof.
After the repair work was done, the supervising roof technician showed me exactly what had been done with photos that he had taken with his tablet camera. He said if any more leakage occurred, they would return to take care of it, but he believed that the leak was effectively repaired. The very next day, we had another hard rain storm in the La Grange, TX, Fayette County area, and my repaired roof no longer leaked into the sheet rock ceiling or into the window frames of my breakfast room bay window. I'm very satisfied with the work done by Vincent's Roofing.
I wish I had called them sooner rather than waiting for the roofer who put the original roof on my house two and a half years ago.
That roofer refused to back up his own work, and his delay had made the damage from the roof leak even worse. However, Vincent's Roofing did a good job, and I would call them again. I would also recommend them to anyone needing roof repairs or a new roof installation.
"

"They ordered all the necessary material for the roof an all trim. They came the days they scheduled. They did great work and cleaned up after themselves. They hauled away all the trash themselves instead of filling our trash can. The roof looked fantastic, but had 1 small leak around a vent pipe. They responded to the first phone call about the leak immediately and fixed it quickly and completely."

"To begin with, I contacted 4 different roofing companies (all highly rated on Angie's List). One of these used a satellite system for estimating the roof area (measured in and quot;squaresand quot;, 1 square = 100 sq ft.) Three of the four area estimates - including the one that used the satellite system - quoted roof areas that were much higher than the fourth. So I took the satellite image - which had linear dimensions on it, and added a factor for the roof pitch (basic trigonometry) and what I found was that the fourth estimate, which happened to come from Bruce Bethke, was nearly right-on.
I have no idea what was up with the other three roofers' estimates (bad at math?), but they all enjoy great reputations on Angie's List...
Bruce suggested that I think about a metal roof and offered me a and quot;screw-downand quot; option (where the fastening screws pass through the metal surface before anchoring in the plywood decking below) and a and quot;standing seamand quot; option (where the metal roof panels are clipped into hidden fasteners leaving the metal surface undisturbed.) NOTE: This second type of roof is referred to as and quot;standing seamand quot;, but it consists of panels with pre-fabricated seams that lock together as opposed to a and quot;trueand quot; standing seam roof which is installed with a power crimper that creates the seams onsite by bending the flat panels together. The original and quot;standing seamand quot; roof is significantly more expensive. While there may be a marginal benefit to the power-crimped roof, the pre-fabricated panels have a good track record.
The more I learned about modern metal roofs, the more I wanted to go that route. They have 2 major benefits: (1) energy efficiency, and (2) durability.
The metal roof (including colored metal roofs) are much more reflective of the sun's radiant energy, so they don't get as hot as asphalt roofs of any color. Furthermore, a metal roof has barely any heat capacity at all; when the sun goes down it has no stored heat to give off, whereas an asphalt roof heats to well over a hundred degrees fahrenheit, and cools down slowly - in the process radiating heat off to the atmosphere - and into the house! Since replacing my roof I have noted that the heat pump barely ever runs between 7 or 8 pm and 10 or 11 am, whereas with the asphalt roof the heat pump ran long and often throughout the entire night and morning. Because the metal roof saves so much energy it has earned an energy tax credit for the year it gets installed.
The roof is also more durable - so much so that it meets a U.L. standard for resistance to wind and hail damage - which earns a discounted rate for homeowner's insurance in the state of Texas.
Lastly, the roof looks great. Neighbors actually comment on it, and several have said they'd like to and quot;go metaland quot; when the time comes to replace their asphalt roofs.
Once I decided to go with a metal roof, I ran the two options by a home inspector who urged me to go with the standing seam rather than the screw-down option. He said that even though it costs more initially, the additional cost is more than made up by the fact that the standing seam roof does not require screws to be inspected and replaced periodically. And the possibility of leaks is drastically reduced because there should be very few if any penetrations through the metal surface of a standing seam roof when installed properly.
Back to Bethke Roofing. Bruce Bethke earned my trust with his straightforward estimate, his suggesting the metal roof, and giving me the full facts up front. He's a pretty easy-going guy besides, and I found dealing with Bruce - and his crew to be a very good experience. During the job Bruce suggested replacing the stack roof vent with louver vents on the sheer face of the adjoining wall (parts of the roof are single-slope adjoining a sheer wall face). That was done at a minimal additional cost. His suggestion improved the aesthetics of the roof, eliminated a potential water leak, and improved the attic ventilation. He even gave me some advice on a non-roof drainage issue I had - and his suggestion has proven completely effective, and much easier to accomplish than what I had originally planned.
I heartily recommend Bethke roofing to anyone who needs a roof!"

"We purchased the house 2 years ago knowing we would need to replace the roof very soon. Got estimates from 3 different roofing companies and his estimate was only $200-$300 more than the others, but his warranty on the workmanship was 10 years - double what the other two companies were offering. Well worth the extra couple hundred when looking at such a major expense. We also went with top of the line shingles, making the cost just a little higher.
Besides the old shingles being worn and needing replacement, we had some decking that needed to be replaced where a fallen tree limb caused damage (prior to buying the house - so had been leaking off and on for couple of years), as well as some rotting fascia boards at the peak on one side of the house. We wanted the fascia boards on both sides replaced at same time and he offered to do it for labor/materials only, including painting the boards so we wouldn't have to.
Shane and his crew were awesome!! They arrived very early in the morning to get started on the roof and were able to finish it all in one day. It's a fairly large roof and he wasn't sure they would be able to finish without needing part of the next day, but they hustled all day long and were able to finish before dark.
We were very impressed with Shane and how he runs his business. He takes pride in the workmanship and is very up front and honest about what needs to be done and what the cost will be. He also answers his phone when you call and is happy to answer any questions you have. All in all, our experience with this company was top notch.
Almost a year later, we had a leak after some hard rain with high winds and we called Shane back out to see what was going on. We were thinking maybe a shingle had gotten damaged from the high winds or something. But after checking the attic and shingles on the roof, he determined that the shingles were good and that it was coming from the chiminy. There were a couple of places where the mortor had worn away and left a few holes where blowing rain was able to get in and trickle down joists in the attic to the point where the leak occurred. He said he'd seen this before and knew how to fix it, so we hired him to do the job rather than spend time getting second opinions. We trusted that Shane knew what he was talking about and though we haven't had another hard, blowing rain since, we're very confident that the problem was addressed and we won't see any more leaks.
We would highly recommend A-Ability Roofing and Shane to anyone needing their services.
"

FAQs for metal roofing repair projects in San Augustine, TX

Maintaining your soffit is essential. You must inspect it twice yearly to catch any clear signs of deterioration. Look for cracks, mold, rotted wood, sagging sections, chipped paint, or missing boards. If these issues are detected, contact a professional immediately to repair or replace the damaged soffit and protect your home’s structural integrity.

To maintain your fascia boards and soffits, inspect them regularly to protect your roof and home's structure. Clean your gutters to remove debris and prevent moisture buildup. Repaint any damaged sections to keep moisture at bay. Upgrading drip edges and vents improves airflow and dispels moisture efficiently, helping you avoid severe damage and costly repairs.

While installing a new soffit over an existing soffit isn't common, it may be necessary in some older homes. If removing the original soffit could damage delicate structures, a professional might recommend installing the new soffit without complete removal. Always consult a qualified professional to assess the condition and ensure this method is safe and effective.

When hiring someone for soffit and fascia repair, choose a specialist with proven roofing and gutter systems expertise. A knowledgeable contractor will thoroughly inspect your home and provide a straightforward repair or replacement plan. Check online reviews and ask for references to ensure you receive high-quality service that delivers lasting results and strong protection for your home.
