"I used them for a "small" job, just 11 sq. ft. countertop for a custom vanity bathroom cabinet. It took just over 2 weeks to get it installed. However, their craftsmanship is superb, and the installation went very quickly. Their selection of remnants were far superior to other companies, and I was able to get a good price by using a piece I found in their back lot."

"I was referred to Ghiloni Granite & Tile for a relatively small project. Some companies either would pass or mark-up the price but they did not. From the regional sales person to the owner to the fabricators to the installer, what a top notch team! I had a large quartz slab I had been saving to use around a new utility sink. The team showed up on time and were professional when they picked up the slab, when they came to confirm measurements, and when they came to demo and install the new countertop, sink, and backsplash. Two thumbs up and five stars all the way. Thank you Mike for you and your teamâ  s quality customer care! I very much appreciate you and my upgraded utility sink area! Thank you all!"

"Everything went flawlessly. These gentlemen are craftsmen in every right. Senovio was our contact and he really took the time to make sure things were done to a standard that was unbelievably high. While in the process of setting our floors, Senovio would periodically slide a quarter across the tiles. We were baffled at first. And I personally thought it was weird. But one night while at our neighbors house I demonstrated to my friends how senovio would do this thing with the quarter every morning. In doing so we all understood why he did it. When the quarter was sliding on our floors, it would never bounce. When I sent it sailing down my buddy's hall it bounced as it went over the first grout joint it encountered. The pride that was taken in setting our floors was incredible. Senovio encourages his crew to be the best. They weren't the cheapest bid we got but they were very highly recommended to us. It is refreshing to see that kind of pride in workmanship. Thank you J.M."

"Marco impressed me with his professionalism and ability to do the entire job, not just the granite. Jose arrived on time and worked very **** ** the demo the first day, leaving the room very clean, the outlet moved, and replacing the furniture. After 3 days of work in the shop, Jose and Marco installed the granite and mantel exactly as requested. They went above and beyond by painting the wall to cover the drywall work, painting the inside of the fireplace black. Our new fireplace is beautiful! The leftover granite was used to make an outdoor tabletop with dropped edges, perfect to cover our old metal fire pit as an outdoor coffee table."

"Excellent company! My job wasn't big, but that wasn't a problem for them at all. Additionally, the scope was flexible they first acid washed the stone on the shower floor to see if that was acceptable, and if not they had a backup plan to replace the floor, but the acid washing worked just fine. Really cleaned up all the staining. They also refilled missing grout areas. I am only in town a few days a year and they worked around that. Great service!"

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in San Diego, CA

Soapstone countertops are durable, environmentally friendly, easy to maintain, non-porous, heat-resistant, and naturally antibacterial. They resist stains and cracks, making them a practical and long-lasting choice. However, soapstone has limited color options and can have visible seams in larger installations. It may also scratch or chip if not handled carefully and tends to have a higher initial cost than other materials. Overall, if you're looking for a functional and aesthetically pleasing countertop, soapstone is a solid choice despite these minor drawbacks.

Soapstone countertops typically come in light to dark gray, often with blue or green undertones. One of the unique features of soapstone is that it deepens in color over time, developing a rich patina that adds to its charm. Each slab is unique, with natural streaks and veining that become more pronounced as the countertop ages, giving your kitchen or bathroom a dynamic and evolving look.

With proper care, soapstone countertops can last 50 years or more. Regular cleaning with mild detergents and occasional applications of mineral oil to enhance the natural patina will keep your countertops looking beautiful. Thanks to its durable nature, soapstone stands up well for daily use, making it a wise long-term investment for your home.

Sealing isn't necessary for soapstone countertops. Soapstone is naturally non-porous and antibacterial, resists stains, and doesn't harbor bacteria. While you don't need to seal it, applying mineral oil occasionally can enhance its natural beauty and help develop a rich patina over time. This simple maintenance keeps your countertop looking its best for years to come.
