"I hired Be My Guest to do a yard clean-up for my house before it went on the market. I had contacted previous companies for estimates and received ridiculous quotes of $1100-1600 to clean my front and back yard which included trimming bushes and tree limbs, raking leaves and spreading mulch that I purchased. Fernando, the owner of Be My Guest, quoted me $300. Deal! As I shared my to-do list of projects to prepare my house to list, I found out that the companies abilities extended past yard work. I ended up hiring them for $1100 to clean the yard, paint the house and front door, replace the expansion boards in the driveway and walkway with cement, fix the cracks along the cement foundation from the house settling and paint the back porch, stain the cement floor/steps, paint the garage and stain the floor. I also ended up getting full sod for the back yard, which cost met $850 total including labor. Other companies were quoting me $1100-1300 for a back yard that is part of a .11 acre total property! The projects soon moved inside and I hired them the paint the baseboards and trim, paint one room, replace the flooring in the kitchen and bathrooms, fix laminate pieces in the current flooring and fix moulding at the top of my kitchen and bathroom closets. The work took over a week to complete and time for completion was underestimated a couple of times, but I was extremely pleased with the work overall. My house is now move-in ready and the realtors who visited said it looked like a model home. Exactly what I wanted! I have a list of projects to begin at the new house and have already scheduled Fernando to start next week, including yard work and new fencing that will be over 400 feet. I often get mistaken as a naive female who doesn't do her research on projects and costs and some contractors/owners I've contacted in the past to get estimates see dollar signs when I answer the door. Fernando didn't treat me that way and it put him above the others. I highly recommend Be My Guest and Fernando and his team. He was fair, open to changes or add-ons to your list without gouging you price wise and they do great work."

"he is too busy, puts me on a "list", does not return calls when he is a no show on my date. does not return calls after that but 2 weeks later i get a work order proposing a whole new roof with trimming and variable quality of materials. $13k to 17$k. I do not need a new roof. To my knowledge no one got on my roof to inspect. I declined the work order."

"MR. Romero is not only a terrific professional contractor, but most importantly, he is an honorable man. I live overseas and after a major problem with mold in my house, I had to leave all repairs to Mr. Romero, he not only communicated with me daily to thoroughly inform me of the progress, but he "fought" some battles for me in my absence. There are not enough words to thank him for his professionalism and for going "beyond the call of duty". MR. Romero cares for his reputation and for his clients and this trully reflects on the results of his work. Exelent. His cost as very comparable to other contractors and roofers. About the roof change, he communicated (with my authorisation) with my insurance company and, with his more than 20 year experience, was able to get a fair compensation from them."

"I called to get an estimate on patching 2 flat roof leaks.  He returned my call same day (Friday) and offered to come out the following Monday, which he did.  He brought his own ladder and went up onto the roof.  Was up there for about 15 minutes. He noted two problem areas (same 2 areas an earlier infrared scan by a different company had indicated leaks). He provided a written estimate, but not much detail on estimate of $400.  He required 1/2 payment upfront (to purchase materials). I wrote a check for $200.  Because it rained the next day, he called to say he would be out when the weather was better, which he did. <br /> He used plywood, nails, tar, and sealant to fix roof.  I am not too pleased that he hammered so many nails into the flat roof, but he says the tar and sealant seals the nail holes.  He hammered in a lot of nails, and he did make a lot of noise up there...I am thinking he dropped the plywood heavily onto the roof a few times.  It may be my own ignorance, but my understanding was that it is best to be gentle on a flat roof to prevent additional cracks.  After the two areas were finished, he rang the doorbell to let me know, and for remaining payment of $200.  I went up ladder to look at the work.  The white roof had black, tarred repair areas, which is ok, but just be aware of this. I painted Kilz on ceiling and will be repainting with ceiling paint in a few days. Only small rain showers since repair, and no additional ceiling leaks.  But only a heavy downpour will provide a good test."

"Mr. Mejia did not explain that 12 hours of repair work included his wife's time so when they left at 2:00, jobs were not done and my understanding that he would work 2 6 hour shifts for $300 was that the 2 shifts included him and his wife. THey both were very nice but the work his wife did was not equal to what he did so I feel as though I overpaid. Also, he asked me to make a list and sent me out to Home Depot to buy a long list of materials. He was not able to finish the list and I had a lot of items that I had not intended to spend money on this month so I overspent my budget. ALso, at promplty 2:00, they were packing up their things to leave but my area rug was still in the driveway, weatherstripping scraps and trash were still all scattered in my halls, no clean up. I also was told they could clean carpets but in reality, its not a carpet cleaner but a pressure washer they use to clean area rugs so the rug took time to dry. They did help me move the rug back into my dining room but only because I asked them to do so. Communication as to exactly what will be done, in how much time and price needed to be more clear. Also, I judge a constuction site by clean up as I am an architect so leaving a mess was a disapointment. Last, my faucet stopped leaking for about two days but is back to dripping again so that was not correctly fixted. I have to complete the weatherstripping because they were not able to finish in the time they allotted. My oven door is great, working perfect."

"The sales representative was professional and knowledgeable. He provided invaluable assistance in filing for insurance, met with the insurer's adjuster, and briefed all concerned at a homeowners' meeting. <br /> The roofing crew did an excellent installation job in a reasonable time frame. They did an impressive job in removing and hauling away the old roof without creating any mess at all. Our property is completely surrounded by concrete driveways and alleyways and we were worried that it would be contaminated with roofing nails. Not one nail was ever seen by any homeowner. <br /> All the owners were pleased with the results. This firm is highly recommended. <br />"

"<p><br /></p> <p>The crew that was working for Apex was punctual and courteous along the entire process. The area was left clean after the project was completed. After a few months during the rainy season in El Paso, an area on the roof began to leak quite severely. The popcorn texture ceiling area below the leak for about 36 inches fell to the living room area and left an unsightly yellow stain on the ceiling and the carpet below. I took several photographs and e-mailed those to Luis Sanchez - owner of APEX. After several attempts to contact APEX for a response, I did not receive a follow up. I filed a complaint with the local Better Business Bureau and a week or two later I received a response from Mr. Sanchez. The problem was described to him in detail and a person was sent to my home in order to repair the issue. After a couple of visits the roof was sealed and the interior area of the ceiling was also repaired with a new coat of texture. The final result was decent but not outstanding.</p> <p>I got up on the roof a few weeks later and found out that the area where the leak had been repaired had been sealed with roofing tar,  tar paper and roofing staples that were left exposed to the elements. There weren't any shingles placed on top of the area where the leak had been sealed or even around the staples. The person that came to repair the leak either forgot to lay shingles in that particular area or he did not intend to replace the shingles since the shingles were left in a corner of my garage. It would not surprise me if the leak comes back since the materials used were left exposed.</p>  I was optimistic that the leak would be repaired appropriately so I wouldn't have to deal with a similar issue in the near future. That possibility is not likely and after we receive heavy rain it would not surprise me to find the leak again."

FAQs for roof cleaning service projects in San Elizario, TX

To find a reputable ice dam removal company, check verified customer reviews and ensure they have the proper credentials. Look at online testimonials and consult reputable agencies like the Better Business Bureau to validate their service record. Contact the company to ask about their experience, hourly rates, and safety practices. This helps ensure you're hiring a pro with proven expertise and a solid track record to protect your home from ice dam damage.

Ice dams can cause extensive damage that jeopardizes your entire roof structure. They can lead to issues like attic condensation, broken roof sheathing, persistent leaks, visible wall water stains, mold in your attic insulation, sagging drywall, rotting attic framing, and roof collapse. This damage compromises your home's integrity and requires immediate professional attention to ensure proper repair and safety.

Most insurance policies don’t include coverage for the removal of ice dams since it's considered preventive maintenance. However, damage caused by ice dams—such as roof collapse, extensive water damage, or structural failures—may be covered by your policy. It's a good idea to contact your insurance provider to understand your coverage.

Removing snow from your roof can help prevent ice dams. Use a proper roof rake from the ground or a safe ladder—never climb onto an icy roof. Also, consider addressing any inadequate attic insulation that may cause heat leakage. Promptly clearing snow minimizes risks and helps maintain a safe, durable roof.
