"Kasa/Arturo and his team did a fantastic job with our landscaping. We needed a full overhaul of our backyard (sod, sprinklers, and rockwall repair) and the team did not disappoint! Highly recommend Kasa to anyone in need of any outdoor landscaping/maintenance!"

"Juan is great! When we first started looking for landscape and concrete contractors for our backyard, he was the first to come out promptly on time and on the date scheduled, and he always answered our phone calls, we then looked into several other contractors just to compare, and we went back to our first option and decided on Navarro’s landscape because of the PROFESSIONALISM AND PUNCTUALITY AND FOLLOW THROUGH that Juan provided with fast and easy appointments for him to come out and give us an estimate as soon as possible (which we could not say for other contracting companies who would give us 1-2 week waiting times just to send someone to give an estimate, Juan came out the very next day!) and he did not take long at all to give us an estimate (which other contractors take 1-4 wks or they didn’t even follow through at all and forgot about us!) so it was a no brainer to choose Navarro’s landscape because we felt comfortable w Juan and his follow through and attentiveness which made us hopeful for his work. Once we got started on the project, they completed my very large yard in exactly 2 wks!! Which was mind blowing for the amount of work that we asked for! I was extremely pleased w how fast it got done and how BEAUTIFUL everything came out! It was exactly how I pictured it and EXACTLY WHAT I ASKED FOR (Juan took time to understand my ideas and concept and he NAILED IT! I was nervous at first because it is our first home and we had saved money for a while to have the backyard of our dreams but they did not disappoint! They placed stained concrete in my yard which was beautiful and also some planters and a unique concrete design that I asked for, they also laid down SOD in our yard and it is VERY NICE I was nervous about the quality because there are different levels of sod and some look cheap or dry but the one we chose was PERFECT AND VERY GREEN AND FULL AND LAID DOWN NICELY with no irregularities or issues! Navarro’s landscape and design EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS and I would DEFINATELY recommend them to everyone in El Paso area (considering there is a lot of other very shady contractors in this area). We will definately be using Navarro’s landscape and concrete again for our future plans and recommend them to our friends and family ! Thank you Juan and your entire team especially you and your father! he is also great and explained everything and very kind!"

"I quite literally had zero issues with this company. I had a very small concrete job I wanted done and nobody else would take the job at a reasonable price. I saw some other reviews on here of people complaining about blah, blah, blah and whatever but, for me, super awesome experience. Daniel and Christina are really cool people, very personable and just a pleasure to talk with. I have several other projects planned in the future and will most definitely be reaching back out to them. I would also recommend their company to anyone looking to have quality work done at a more than reasonable price. Thanks Daniel and Christina!! You've definitely earned a repeat customer!"

"I am going to try to download some pictures. This crew worked each day. There was no messing around. The man in the tree doing the cutting, I guess you would call him a "lumber jack"? was an expert. All of the crew knew their respective jobs and did them professionally.
They arrived the first day and started right in taking down all the lower branches as the "lumber jack" moved to each level of the tree to come down. Most of the tree was completed by the first day. On the second day they all worked as they did the first. The very top of the tree was completed & the trunk of the tree was cut into move able pieces. On the third day it was removing the stumps and completing the clean up of the yards. I would definitely recommend this company."

FAQs for sod installation projects in San Elizario, TX

Seeding costs less up front, but you’ll wait months—and sometimes a full season—for the grass to fill in. Sod costs more per square foot, yet it gives you an instant, usable lawn the day it’s installed and needs far less care during the first year.

If speed and early curb appeal matter, the higher sod price is often worth it; if you’re watching every dollar and don’t mind the wait, seed can still be a smart play.

Start by sketching your lawn and breaking it into rectangles or circles. Measure each section, multiply length by width, and then add all the sections together for the total square footage. Standard sod rolls are two feet by 1.5 feet, and one pallet covers 450 square feet.

Divide your total area by 450 to see how many pallets you need, then round up—extras come in handy for cutting around curves or mistakes. Still unsure? A local sod supplier or installer can confirm your math before you order.

Most sod grips the soil within 10 to 14 days. During that stretch, keep foot traffic to a minimum and mow only if the grass gets tall. After two weeks, the roots should be strong enough for light use, but wait six weeks before heavy play or frequent mowing. Giving the grass that short honeymoon helps it anchor firmly and sets the stage for a durable, healthy lawn.

Give your new lawn two full weeks before any foot traffic, then stick to light use only. Hold off on vigorous play, parties, or regular mowing until the six-week mark so the roots can dig deep. Keep watering on schedule and watch for any dry patches. A little patience now means stronger turf and fewer repairs later.

Keep an eye on color, moisture, and even growth. Fresh sod should stay uniformly green; brown spots or gaps hint at dry soil or poor contact. Water deeply at least once a day for the first week (more in hot weather) and back off gradually after the roots take. Avoid heavy foot traffic until the grass feels firmly anchored. Quick attention to trouble spots now prevents costly patches later.

Aim for spring or early fall when daytime temps hover between 55°F and 80°F. Mild weather and consistent moisture help the roots knit quickly. Laying sod in midsummer can stress the grass, while frozen winter soil blocks rooting altogether.

If you must install outside the ideal window, budget extra time for watering and tending to the turf. Choosing the right season makes the job easier and the lawn tougher.
