"I knew immediately after my in home consultation with Melissa that I wanted her to paint my built in cabinet and shelves. After a smooth, stress free cabinetry project, the next step was painting. Melissa came over and looked at project, ask questions, made suggestions and then later sent quote. We agreed and work began. Even though we had a few hiccups as any project does, Melissa kept me informed every step of the way and was honest with me whenever unforeseen issues occurred. Melissa and her crew did an awesome job. I appreciate the care they went through in prepping the site and their clean up. The cabinets look AMAZING!!! Melissa and her crew have definitely earned a spot in my contractor contact list for future painting jobs! Thanks!!"

"Benny worked with my insurance adjuster (State Farm) and repaired all the damage to my house that winter storm URI caused. He repaired all the busted copper water pipes, removed/repaired Sheetrock, installed vinyl flooring, and painted. He kept me posted with updates through out the whole process. He also did additional remodel work for me, (at my request, and not covered by insurance) for a fair price. I will definitely use Benny’s General Contractor again."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in San Felipe, TX

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
