Small jobs welcome

"We had a major two bathroom project that was wrapped around some SF plumbing incompetencies. Johnny and his family business team stuck through it with us. They are authentic old family skilled artisans and know tile, marble and that world inside and out. We had already done the quartz in our kitchen when we met - which I wish they could have also done given the difficulties we faced. Their advice would have better steered our selection and kitchen installation. Qura stuck with us through the project and I know if there is any issue ever they will come and stand behind their work. Thank you Johnny and Al!"

"I highly recommend Shoreline Bay Stone. We had to replace our tile countertops and wanted to install quartz. We contacted Edgar of Shoreline Bay Stone and worked with him. It was a pleasure to work with him and the entire crew. They do beautiful work. If you’re looking for stone countertops, I recommend them highly!"

"Alejandros did an amazing job. He was very professional and extremely hard working. He originally did a small area in the kitchen to demonstrate the process and the results. He was not inexpensive, but after I saw the process, the time and amount of effort involved and his commitment to delivering a superior result, I thought it was absolutely worth every dollar. Also, while the work could be messy, Alejandros took great care to protect the cabinetry and fixtures and cleaned up the worksite thoroughly every day. When he was done, it was like we had new floors and countertops. I would hire Alejandros again in a heartbeat and recommend him highly."

"Javier and his team at Rivera's Fine Flooring did an excellent job installing new hardwood floors in my home.  I was really impressed by how quickly they were able to get everything done and at how great the place looked when they were finished.  They even cleaned everything up and hauled away the waste.  I own a duplex and am in the process of updating both units.  When it comes time to update the second unit, I will definitely be calling these guys to install the floors.  They were easy to work with, were on time and well priced.

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in San Francisco, CA

Soapstone countertops are durable, environmentally friendly, easy to maintain, non-porous, heat-resistant, and naturally antibacterial. They resist stains and cracks, making them a practical and long-lasting choice. However, soapstone has limited color options and can have visible seams in larger installations. It may also scratch or chip if not handled carefully and tends to have a higher initial cost than other materials. Overall, if you're looking for a functional and aesthetically pleasing countertop, soapstone is a solid choice despite these minor drawbacks.

Soapstone countertops typically come in light to dark gray, often with blue or green undertones. One of the unique features of soapstone is that it deepens in color over time, developing a rich patina that adds to its charm. Each slab is unique, with natural streaks and veining that become more pronounced as the countertop ages, giving your kitchen or bathroom a dynamic and evolving look.

With proper care, soapstone countertops can last 50 years or more. Regular cleaning with mild detergents and occasional applications of mineral oil to enhance the natural patina will keep your countertops looking beautiful. Thanks to its durable nature, soapstone stands up well for daily use, making it a wise long-term investment for your home.

Sealing isn't necessary for soapstone countertops. Soapstone is naturally non-porous and antibacterial, resists stains, and doesn't harbor bacteria. While you don't need to seal it, applying mineral oil occasionally can enhance its natural beauty and help develop a rich patina over time. This simple maintenance keeps your countertop looking its best for years to come.
