"The bathroom remodel required a walk-in shower. The crew that did the work were Travis M and Brenton. The work was completed within one day and the job was done in a very professional manner. Very impressed."

"I am extremely pleased with my remodel! I feel like I’m living in an entirely new home. Elliott is a skilled professional and an exceptionally talented designer. I could not be more pleased with my gorgeous porcelain tile floors! He listened patiently to all of my concerns and went above and beyond my expectations. In addition to new flooring, he designed my beautiful and functional home office, remodeled my living area, and an adjacent bathroom. I would absolutely recommend his services to anyone and would hire him again in a heartbeat!!"

"If you want to hire a company that cares, this is the one. We needed to have a bath converted into a walk-in shower in our guest bathroom because of the accessibility issues. The original design looked great, but it would have taken a couple of months to get all the supplies. John and Travis realized that we had an urgent need and came back with a great design that used great materials and we didn't have to wait for so long. In a couple of weeks, we had a crew headed by Jesse that landed in our bathroom. They were great. Everything was done in a day and a half. The quality is superb! Every time I walk into the bathroom, I enjoy the look of it, plus we are happy with all the benefits of having a walk-in shower. One more thing I want you to know is that I really mean what I am saying in this review. When the owner of the company, not a hired salesman, is directly involved in projects, it makes a big difference. Plus, the price was more reasonable compared to "the big shower remodeling companies""

"It went fine. Paint looks incredible, the curtains help me sleep, and the fans are keeping the house cool. Mark was thorough on his pre and post inspection and resolved any issues we had. We’ve hired contractors in the past and the experience was nothing like this. Mark kept his word, and from our past experiences with other remodeling contractors, that’s rare. If we need anything else, Mark will be our first call."

"This was for a fairly major bathroom remodel. First time I have used them. Highly satisfied overall. The only issue I had was that the Proj Mgr and Proj Coordinator apprently left the company in the middle of my job, which I was not informed of., and which caused some project delay. Will probably use them again if I have another major remodeling job."

"They do a great job. They're professional, honest, and reliable. I've used them many times over the years for both my home and my rental property. I've always been very happy with their work. They really saved me after Snovid. We had a burst pipe that caused a ton of damage. They were able to troubleshoot, fix, and clean up everything super quickly, leaving us with running water at a time when it was basically impossible to find help. Can't thank these guys enough."

"Great! Went the extra mile to repair cabinet below sink. Used much better wood than original and selected color to match kitchen that I did not expect. Also, nice job on over grown lawn, cut broken tree limbs and hauled everything away and cleaned up any trash. I highly recommend CQS Construction. A family owned business that takes pride in their work and strives to meet customers needs. Thank you. A true Blessing."

"I'd hired A-Plus two or three years ago for a bunch of smallish things that I needed done around the house. One of those things was replacing a toilet and it was around $200. I checked the deals section and it looked like 200 was still in the ballpark for a toilet replacement. When I called and asked for a quote, I was told that they'd need to send someone out to provide a quote. Fair enough, it's inconvenient for me, but I understand that there may be considerations that affect the price that can only be seen in person. The gentleman who arrived and provided the quote was not an A-plus employee. He took a look and called A-plus, who then called me back and told me it was going to be $700 to replace the toilet. I asked how much of that was the toilet and how much was the labor and Kate did not know and had to (apparently) call the guy back and find out. When she called back, I was told that it would be $350 if I provided the toilet, as long as the flange was OK. This was almost double what I had planned to spend, but I wanted to get it done, and that's what credit cards are for, right? Then I found out that the previous owner of the house had laid the bathroom tile on top of an existing layer of bathroom tile - so there was a significant difference in the height of the sewer pipe and the bottom of the toilet, and this required a flange extension. By now, I was cringing. A-Plus talked to the plumber and then called me back and told me it was going to be an additional $450. This was now an $800 toilet install, not counting the toilet! I am very happy with the work that was done. However, had I known that this was going to be subcontracted out, I would have called someone else who was going to do the work themselves. I feel as though the guy doing the work gave A-Plus a price, and they immediately added $200 to it. Twice. So if you're going to use these guys, it would probably be a good idea to ask if they are going to subcontract it out."

FAQs for bathroom remodel projects in San Marcos, TX

You can buy a replacement vanity by selecting a pre-made unit with an integrated sink from a local home improvement supplier. Pre-made vanities are designed for easy installation and compatibility with your existing plumbing. If a ready-made option doesn't meet your needs, consider hiring a custom builder to create a vanity that fits your space and style.

You can purchase a bathroom vanity from major home improvement retailers like Home Depot and Lowe’s or online stores like Wayfair, which offer a variety of pre-made vanities. Visiting local showrooms and bathroom supply stores can also provide professional advice and help you choose the right vanity for your space.

Installing your bathroom vanity flush against the wall enhances stability and prevents shifting. This placement also eliminates hard-to-clean gaps and keeps your vanity securely in place. Building codes often require a minimum clearance of four inches from bathtubs and at least 21 inches of free space in front of the sink for accessibility and safety.

You can upgrade a single vanity to a double vanity by installing additional cabinets, a second sink, and matching fixtures. This process requires additional plumbing adjustments, countertop modifications, and careful alignment to ensure both sinks function correctly. Upgrading to a double vanity enhances bathroom functionality and offers more space, which is especially beneficial for shared bathrooms.

The best vanity top material depends on your budget, style preferences, and maintenance willingness. Materials like quartz or solid surfaces are excellent choices for durability and low maintenance. If you're on a tighter budget, laminate is affordable but less durable. Consider how much traffic your bathroom gets and choose a material that balances cost, appearance, and upkeep.

Installing a bathroom vanity takes between three and six hours. Simple installations may be completed in under three hours, while more complex projects requiring adjustments or plumbing modifications can take up to six hours or more. The installation process includes assembling cabinets, placing the countertop, installing the sink if necessary, and connecting plumbing.
