" A Plus Tile Marble Stone and their Project Leader Ted, are solid professionals! For a reasonable price, they provided a total white glove service from beginning to end of my kitchen remodel project. Ted is very particular about measurements, stone quality, and matching patterns in the stone, with an eye for detail and aesthetic. His suggestions for the project approach showed a deep level of experience, understanding and care. His team worked quickly and he delivered on time with high quality results. I highly recommend A Plus Tile Marble Stone. "

Customers say: True professional

" Very easy people to work with. I got exactly what I wanted and the work was beautifully done. Very reasonable price too! The crew was very efficient and did a great job. I had a new countertop for my kitchen and tile for the wall space between the cupboards and counter. I picked out the quartz countertop material at Arizona Tile and Infinite Empire got it for me at a discount. They measured it and then it and took out the old granite and put in a new plywood base. My new countertop was installed on time a week later. They created the space for my new stove and microwave and installed my wall tile. They took my old drop in stove top and left over drawers which they removed for me. They did a very thorough job of cleaning, all showing pride in a job well done. I will add a picture when the stove is installed tomorrow."

Customers say: Quality work

"Courteous, professional and definite craftsman. If you want your kitchen countertops prepped and installed correctly you should contact J.T. Marble & Granite Designs. I have heard from friends that contractors left them in the lurch for months while sorting things out and waiting for other jobs to be completed. This was definitely not the case. Our entire job from the first phone call to finish was completed in less than three weeks (including our week long trip out of town) by this awesome team. These guys are probably not the cheapest, and if that is your priority please take into consideration the following. Change orders were handled without any drama and two punch list items (microwave installation and cabinet/drawer pulls) were both completed without additional cost. If you desire high quality work, done in a timely manner to your satisfaction contact J.T. Marble & Granite Designs, Inc."

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in San Marino, CA

Soapstone countertops are durable, environmentally friendly, easy to maintain, non-porous, heat-resistant, and naturally antibacterial. They resist stains and cracks, making them a practical and long-lasting choice. However, soapstone has limited color options and can have visible seams in larger installations. It may also scratch or chip if not handled carefully and tends to have a higher initial cost than other materials. Overall, if you're looking for a functional and aesthetically pleasing countertop, soapstone is a solid choice despite these minor drawbacks.

Soapstone countertops typically come in light to dark gray, often with blue or green undertones. One of the unique features of soapstone is that it deepens in color over time, developing a rich patina that adds to its charm. Each slab is unique, with natural streaks and veining that become more pronounced as the countertop ages, giving your kitchen or bathroom a dynamic and evolving look.

With proper care, soapstone countertops can last 50 years or more. Regular cleaning with mild detergents and occasional applications of mineral oil to enhance the natural patina will keep your countertops looking beautiful. Thanks to its durable nature, soapstone stands up well for daily use, making it a wise long-term investment for your home.

Sealing isn't necessary for soapstone countertops. Soapstone is naturally non-porous and antibacterial, resists stains, and doesn't harbor bacteria. While you don't need to seal it, applying mineral oil occasionally can enhance its natural beauty and help develop a rich patina over time. This simple maintenance keeps your countertop looking its best for years to come.
