"We are very pleased we chose the The Floor Store to help us select new flooring and have it installed. We worked with Bill Cunningham to choose carpet and vinyl flooring materials that we are very satisfied with. The installation crews for both the hard floor and the carpet were incredibly professional and highly skilled. They arrived as scheduled, worked consistently throughout the day(s) and completed the work when expected. Between the new flooring and new baseboards, our house feels refreshed and contemporary. This was a great investment in our home and we're so glad we made it."

"One of the best experiences we have had with someone working in our home. This guy is a true professional in every way. His work and work ethic is the absolute best. He is a young guy but do not let that fool you he really knows what he is doing. Whether he is working with hard wood, laminate or tile his cuts are spot on and he goes the extra mile to make sure things are perfect. He is not happy unless things are right. His prices are very reasonable especially for the quality of his work. He is also very punctual and he does exactly what he says he is going to do. If you have had any experience with contractors like I have as an owner of multiple rental properties over the past 20 years you really appreciate this in a contractor. You will not go wrong with Matt if you have a wood, laminate, or tile floor that you want installed. I am speaking from experience. Hire this guy while you still can. I got a feeling that with time and word of mouth advertising he will soon be so busy you will have to wait many months to get on his work schedule. We did not have him put down any carpet but he dos that as well so he is a one stop shop for any flooring need."

"I did not actually use them because their prices were a little high for me. I did not dislike anything. They were very professional, timely and they answered all my questions. They even came out to my house to give me the bid for the installation and refinish. It is a good company all the way around."

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"Cannot say enough good things about these folks. Their designer has an and quot;eyeand quot; for color, product and design that is impeccable. Their product offerings are superior. Their installation process is beyond description - rarely these days do you find such dedication to the customer and desire to do a job 1000% perfect! They were on time. They were creative. They LISTENED! They offered suggestions. They did superior quality work. It was an experience beyond our dreams and each day we stand in our living room and admire our and quot;newand quot; house! And taking a shower is now being described as and quot;being at a resortand quot;! But again, the most important thing was their total commitment to a please client! That cannot be purchased! <br />"

"We were very pleased with the results. Adam and his two co-workers (sorry, I did not get their names) were here on time, even a little early after calling first to see if that was acceptable. It was a cold day, but they didn't complain and went right to work. It took them about 2.5 hours to complete.  The engine looks like it came off the show room floor. We were very happy and would use them again. They were all very friendly and our car looks brand new. <br />"

"I am a REALTOR. Duke City Home Inspectors have completed numerous inspection for my clients and now our own family home. They are always very thorough and the best part is that we came away with a nice important list of how to keep the home in great shape for the future. Levi and Josh take tons of time to help the buyer or seller (he does pre-home inspections  for sellers,as well, and then comes back with the new buyer to re-inspect at NO CHARGE) understand what is in the report. If the buyer is attending the inspection they point out how to avoid problems and maintain a nice home. They will teach you how to take care of your swamp cooler, lube you windows, how not to get electrocuted when you open a fuse box, etc. Especially great for a new home buyer.  They are careful to look for polybutylene piping and sono-tubing plus much more. You will LOVE Duke City Home Inspectors! <br />"

"I am very happy with my experience with 1-Authorized Restoration and Remodeling. They were very helpful and responsive. They were able to clean my carpet within a few days of me calling. They arrived on time and everything went as they said it would. Carpet dried within 12-24 hours and looks terrific. Reasonably priced. No damage to walls, baseboards, etc."

"In general, the level of knowledge of the staff regarding surface preparation proved to be inadequate to the task; I was misinformed on a couple of critical points, causing not only delays but impacts to the quality of the work. <br /> However, when they came to give me an estimate for the work (which I later decided to do myself) they were prompt and corteuous. Their prices for materials were reasonable and the store is well-stocked. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in San Rafael, NM

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
