"I opted to purchase cellular blinds for our newly constructed home from Design in Blinds over other competitors because of the high rating they have on Angie's list.  Their estimate was only $2 higher than one we received from Budget Blinds in Westborough who wasn't rated on Angie's at the time.  We're setting up our new home while still living out of state, so how a company treats its customers was as important to us, if not more so, than price. We had an issue come up with our purchase that made us very glad that we made that a priority. I'm not saying I didn't like talking with Budget Blinds; they were very professional, too, but for buying blinds for the entire house the ratings on Angie's List tipped the balance towards Design in Blinds for me. <br /> The issue that came up for us resulted from my fabric selection for the blinds. There are so many choices and no matter what company you go with, most of the samples open up to about the size of a large index card, so it isn't easy if you don't want anything but a clinical white color which is what I was trying to avoid. I instead selected what I thought was a blind that would have just a hint of gray to it. I stayed away from the off-whites or tans because I was trying to avoid yellow tones.  My salesperson, Chris, put a rush on my order so that we could have some privacy and security for the house quicker.  The blinds came in under three weeks and installation went without any problems, but I was a bit taken aback at how they looked. Instead of a pale gray, the sun coming through them made them appear a very yellow-green!  I kept looking at them for a couple of hours trying to get used to them and think what I could do to make them go with my furnishings that were not yet in the house, but I have nothing that would remotely work with them, so I was feeling pretty bad. <br /> I figured I was going to be stuck with those blinds forever, but when I called Chris about it, he didn't shoot me down, but instead came back out to the house to see for himself. He saw what I was talking about, and without making any promises, said he'd see what he could do with their suppliers. He and the owner of Design in Blinds must have made a lot of phone calls and while the company that supplied the blinds I first bought weren't that helpful, another company made an amazing offer for all new blinds and Design in Blinds offered to cover half of that cost!  To say I was in shock at what they did to help me is an understatement.  It was above and beyond anything I ever expected when the issue wasn't their fault.  <br /> If my experience with Design in Blinds doesn't prove to anyone reading this that their rating on Angie's list is well deserved, I don't think anything will. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"We ordered the pad, they sent us a kit to create the template used to make the pad. Was easy to use and sent it back. A few weeks later the pad came and fit perfectly. I couldn't be more satisfied."

"We went room by room discussing paint colors based on what furnishings and features we want to keep and what we may change. Cara worked with us to come up with some great colors that should work for each room as well as the overall flow of color throughout the house. The discussion included future ideas for our master bath if we choose to upgrade the overall look and what would work for now if we just change the color. She also gave us some good advice in our approach to our open kitchen and living room, where we were advised to first make some decisions on the kitchen countertop and fireplace before choosing paint colors. Her expertise seems to go well beyond choosing paint colors. We plan to work with her in the future in choosing a kitchen countertop, backsplash, window treatments, etc. We have not worked with an interior decorator before, but were very impressed in working with her. She charged $95/hour and was there for 3 1/2 hours. We have a lot of roooms and she will take as much time as you feel you need in making decisions together. We also had the option, which we chose, to purchase for $1 each, large 8"x8" paint samples of each color we chose. By the end, we had plans for all but the kitchen and living room colors for the reasons mentioned earlier. She seems to be very flexible in what level of assistance you want from her, whether it just be advice or if you would like her to go with you in selecting items, such as granite countertops, for your home. We definitely plan to work with her further."
