"The folks at Carpet Works do excellent work. They showed up right on time. The carpets look amazing now, every last spot is out. They got almost all of the water out in the cleaning process, and carpets felt dry the same evening as the cleaning. Very happy with their service."

"From the moment we walked into The Floor Store Randy bent over backwards to help us find the right tile and carpet for our lake house. There was never any pressure and he allowed us to take any samples we wanted with us to compare on site. Everything he did was timely and professional and the installers he sent out were some of the best we have ever worked with and this is our 5th house. I can't say enough about how positive the experience was working with Randy and his team."

"Enchantment sent an experienced craftsman; he knew what he was doing. He did not hesitate with the work involving the subfloor repair (even though another company said this could not be done). The carpet had to be taken up. Once the subfloor was repaired, he had to re-glue a seam and re-stretch this section. The carpet looks better now than it ever has. The stretching in the other rooms was also done extremely well. <br />"

"It went absolutely great. From the moment we were helped by Lee to select our carpet to the time the carpet arrived and installed we couldn't have been happier. Lee was very pleasant to deal with and the installers were extremely nice and very professional and tidy. All in all for an experience we dreaded it was quite enjoyable. We are very happy and would recommend Ray's to anyone!"

"We had spare tiles to replace carpet that had recently become water damaged in a bedroom closet. I contacted Mark last week and set-up appt. for today. Mark and Allen arrived a few minutes before scheduled time. They came in and completed the work quickly, professionally, and to our satisfaction. My wife commented on how they warned us before they used some loud equipment, which we both thought was exceptionally considerate. Although, this was a small job, I would definitely use them for future work and would recommend them to others."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Santa Fe, NM

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
