"Sent to two plumbers to install the faucet and make other connections, which we were charged for both of their time. This was not agreed upon beforehand. They struggled to install the faucet and seemed inexperienced with PEX piping. When completed the reverse osmosis faucet has far less pressure than it used to have. They came back to check it, but then only blamed the unit (which worked perfectly fine before it was disconnected)."

"Sun City just finished installing our new Trane A/C and furnace. As a retired Engineering Manager I'm a stickler for professionalism and attention to details. Jeff and Erick went above and beyond during the entire installation process. They were very personable and easy to deal with. Based on my experience I highly recommend Sun City to anyone considering a new A/C system."

"I want to start with the fact that this review is over a year old and with time I remain very happy with the services I was provided. Overall Danny was very professional. Quality of work was very good. The price was fair. Danny stands by his work and now I suspect it is cause it was done right from the start. This job was extensive requiring tearing down the shower to what studs were salvageable and concrete. New custom cabinets, countertops, vessel sinks, standalone tub, lighted mirrors, added heater and exhaust, as well as additional lighting. Of course all the tile was done throughout and toilet replace. He even made a custom very solid barn style door where none existed into our master bedroom. After interviewing 6 contractors for this job I am glad we chose D.R. and he is the first person we call when we are ready for our kitchen remodel. BTW he helped us with obtaining financing. He took disbursement of funds based on work completion level all spelled out contractually. Have recommended him to any of our friends who have asked."

"This was an emergency as water was leaking out from under the garage door, down the driveway and into the street! This was mid afternoon. I didn't know where the leak was coming from; but if seemed to be where the washer was. I thought maybe a pipe had broken; but that didn't make sense since the washer hadn't been used in 2 days. I immediately researched Angie's list and chose 5 Points due to the A rating and so many positive reviews. Let me just say this, we live in New Mexico...just over the state line so a lot of providers were unable to perform the work. I called 5 Points and talked to Carlos. I explained my problem and he said he could out in the morning; but he also said that if it got worse to call him back and he would come out to see what could be done temporarily. When my husband came home from work, he saw that it the hot water heater. I immediately called Carlos back and told him that it was the hot water heater. He asked me to take pictures of the hot water heater and to get measurements of the heater and the closet. My husband talked with him about what kind of water heater to get. My husband had already turned the water off to the heater so at least it wouldn't keep leaking. I received a call at 0840 the next morning and 2 workers showed up 40 minutes later. They attached a hose to the old heater to completely drain the water out...they drained it out to a tree in the front yard. That impressed me. I know it is a little thing; but that still impressed me. Waste not, want not. The new water was installed quickly and the old one hauled out. I was very happy and pleased. The total cost was $825.00. The cost of the new hot water heater (40 gal, energy efficient State Select, and parts was $328.00. That leaves $497 for service, incidental supplies and taxes. Since this more or less an emergency, I did not "shop around". Also, we bought the water heater sight unseen. It was purchased from a distributor where we couldn't have bought one anyway. So I'm thinking that we got a good water heater at a much less cost than what we could have gotten elsewhere. The cost of the service may seem a little high; but we are happy. We had a new hot water heater in less than 24 hours, Carlos was most responsive in getting back with me and selecting a new water heater that would meet our needs. The workers were pleasant, friendly and professional in both appearance and in their work. My only recommendation would be to have been given basic maintenance instructions that should be done in order to extend the life of the water heater. I found the information in the booklet left on the new water heater. Our old water heater was 18 years old. We lived here 6 years and did no maintenance work at all. We are planning on updating both our kitchen and bathroom in the next 18mo. You can bet that we will be calling Carlos and 5 points for that job. Research done!!!"

"Hello, my name is Carmelita Di Mery. I am writing a review on Ramos Drilling and Water Treatment owned by Dave Ramos out of El Paso, TX. Mr. Ramos was contacted by me after reading great reviews from the Angie's List website. I was looking for someone to come and assess the poor water quality at my parents' home in NM. My parents live in the country and use water from a well pumped from deep within the earth off their property. My parents had a water softener installed many years ago, but never did keep up with the maintenance of the system. It looked great with many fancy and large canisters and tanks. It seemed to do it's job at first, but due to neglect and years of un-keep, the water quality started to deteriorate. We started to notice massive amounts of sediment in the bottom of drinking glasses after the ice had melted. Also noted was the massive amounts of lime-scale build up on glass shower doors and pipes as well as the popping sounds coming from the water heaters located in the home. The water seemed "dirty", and I was concerned for the safety and well-being of my elderly parents, pets, and anyone who was consuming the water coming out of the pipes. In addition, it was very noticeable how dry your skin felt after showering in the home. I knew that the water needed to be fixed. I found myself looking for sales professionals who could fix the issue at my parents home. I came across a review here at Angie's List talking about Mr. Dave Ramos and his company "Ramos Drilling and Water Treatment". Specifically, what caught my eye was the fact that he was very knowledgeable and adept in well-water systems. That is exactly what I needed! Someone who could work with softening water that came naturally from the ground! I called him and set up an appointment for him to come and assess the situation. I was so very impressed with him when he came out. He was extremely polite and professional and proceeded to explain the whole system that we had in place. Apparently, the former system was set up wrong and too small for the output of water on our property. Mr. Ramos explained in great, scientific detail how a water softening system works and even set up his own miniature version of the real tank system. It was a real science experiment! Mr. Ramos was able to demonstrate our current water situation based on our old and outdated (and unkempt) filter. I was SHOCKED!!! The water that the family and the pets were drinking, cooking with, bathing in, and all household chores was DISGUSTING!!!! I had no idea that this was the water that we had been using for so long! The water was filled with massive amounts of sediment and "rock" as he called it. The rock particles are microscopic so it was never noticed as such during the dispensing process, but clearly noticed in a glass of water at the bottom of the glass after the ice had melted. It looked like a flurry of white sludge. So gross, I never drank this portion because I thought I would clog my kidneys. Mr. Ramos used a miniature set up of his system to "clean" the water that came out of the kitchen faucet. I could not believe my eyes of our untreated water versus his system! When I compared the 2 vials of water he produced, I could not find any sediment in his treated water compared to what the kitchen sink was producing. I knew that nasty water was what we had been using for a long time using our old system! I had to have his system. I purchased immediately, and I set up a date for install! Mr. Ramos came out and completely re-vamped the whole system including pipes and tanks. His work is absolutely impeccable and perfect! The tanks and pipes were installed with such great precision and care (completely leveled and BEAUTIFUL)! His attention to detail is amazing. He even talked to me about how to regenerate the system away from pecan trees so as not to damage the existing flora of the property. We came up with an ideal solution, and the system is working wonderfully. It has been many months now that we have had the new system. I can honestly say that his system is producing the best tasting water I have ever had, even better than bottled water. The ice-cubes are so clean that you can see through them now, and there is no more nasty sediment in the bottom of drinks that use water or ice from the home. I am amazed!!! Also, as an added bonus, the household appliances have started to clear from the lime-scale build up, and the water heaters are not "popping" anymore. The water is so soft it feels like you are bathing in lotion and your detergents go further. The water is so soft, it is SLIPPERY. I am so proud that I helped my family purify such an essential part of life by using the knowledgeable and professional services of Mr. Dave Ramos and his company Ramos Drilling and Water Treatment. Please call him at 915-875-9987...; His set-up is amazing, beautiful, and perfect!!! He will be there to answer all your questions, even when the job is done! How many companies can say that? If you want the purest, cleanest, and best tasting and performing water on the planet, call Dave Ramos!!! Also, he travels to many areas in the US! Just simply amazing this man is!"

"Michael & team Micropure are the best. They are very responsive. The estimate process was thorough and accurate. Installation was quick and professional. We love our new whole-house combination water filter and water softener. Micropure takes its business seriously. My installation was somewhat challenging based on how the plumbing was built into this house and the they did a great job navigating the plumbing to ensure a neat/clean installation. I also had them install an additional spigot on the water output line so I can wash my car with soft water. They got that extra stuff installed and solidly anchored to the wall, and painted up to match. They take care of your house like it was their own. They take incredible pride in their work/service, and want to make you a satisfied customer. I will recommend Micropure Water to anyone who wants the job done right."

"We had a gas leak in our water heater which was verified by Texas Gas Service.  We called Pronto Plumbers and they immediately came to our house and fixed the problem, updating our gas lines to the modern specifications.  The gentleman corrected several problems which had been left by a previous amateur plumber on the water heater.  Pronto Plumbers' guy was 100% professional and acted with great courtesy.  I have total confidence in their work."

"Was contacted by the Owner (Rick) and he sent out a technician Travis Joslin. He was very professional, friendly, and knew his job very well! Since I hadn't used my system in a couple of years he checked everything out and he was honest and let me know that the system was in much better shape than what I thought it was. He only needed to replace a couple of the sprinkler heads and redirect a few more. I had a zone that wasn't providing enough water in one of my zones and needed to get another head installed and I also requested to get Drip lines installed into my flower bed. I made another appointment and Travis came out again; completed the work and I'm very satisfied with how my system is working. I would recommend this company if you're having any issues with your sprinkler system!! The company will return your phone calls, if an appointment is made they will show up on time, and if your tech is Travis expect Outstanding, Quality Work!!! I highly recommend this company and will use them for any sprinkler issue I may have in the future!!!"

"It went very well. After a bit of a wait, I received a very comprehensive report of 88 specific items as well as bacteria, fungi and particles. Each Item detected over the EPA drinking water limits had an explanation sheet. Also provided was a contact person at the company to address any questions you had about the report findings. I thought the service was well worth the $300 just for the peace of mind. I intend to use the company on an annual basis going forward."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Santa Teresa, NM

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
