"I am very happy about my experience with E&K plumbing. Ethan was able to come out on very short notice to help with my plumbing emergency. He came in and quickly assessed the problem. He did an excellent and speedy job fixing it better than when it was new. I was also very happy that I wasn't charged an outrageous amount like most specialists do. I have found my new plumber, and I definitely recommend them to anyone who needs plumbing help."

"Talk about some great people. Had Joe do a sort of emergency job on Friday. The Cranberry water issue struck with a pin hole leak on my main supply line. While taking down ceiling tiles, I discovered the whole line had many green spots. He quickly fixed 20 feet of bad line with Pex lines and we are now back in business. Super nice and a great worker. Great price for the work with such short notice. Thanks, Reynolds Plumbing is on my list for all my plumbing needs!"

"Matt Mertz Plumbing came out again to clear a clog in my indoor sewer line. I rated them an "A" back in February for the same. They were all prompt, professional and pleasant. Earl again was unable to snake the line clear, and Chris came out to hydrojet the line on a different day, as before, which got most of the line cleared (with the exception of the branch to the furnace room drain). Again, they recommended sewer line replacement, which would require jackhammering the garage and basement cement flooring, up to two weeks of work, and $16,000. Prior to such an expenditure, I requested a second opinion from a different plumbing company. They came out, finished clearing the furnace branch line, ran a camera through the system from two different insertion points, gave me a DVD copy of the video so that I could see what they saw, determined that the 1940s terra cotta pipes were in functional and average condition for their age and this area, and recommended to not proceed with replacement at this time. They charged me $250. I am not stating that Matt Mertz Plumbing was less than forthright, or that the pipes may not need replacing at some point, however the other company's transparent and thorough work demonstrate the importance of second opinions and healthy competition among service providers."

"We contacted several contractors to start on roughing in new lines in our home. Gary Bricker was really friendly over the phone. Not that phony baloney wheeler-dealer friendly, but genuine friendly. He arrived on time and conducted a thorough walk through, answering all my lay person questions and giving great practical advice. His employees were friendly and professional, and cleaned up after they were done. Due to budget constraints we are having all the work done in phases. We appreciated that Gary Bricker was OK with this, as not every plumber seemed open to working this way. We will definitely be hiring Brickhaas Plumbing in the future for the next phase of our renovation. Thank you to everyone for your fantastic services! -Peter and Stephanie Erickson"

"Warren received my call on Sunday, he came out Monday morning to access my tank. He let me know rather quickly I needed a new one. Luckily it was under warranty. He got the serial number, contacted the company and had the new tank at my house that afternoon. Within the hour he had removed the old tank and replaced it with a new one. It's been about a month since and all is working great. All at an affordable price. He's locked in to be my first call for plumbing issues."

"<p>This was already the second time we used Park Plumbing this winter!.  I found them on Angie's List when I was frantically searching for an emergency service plumber when our pipes burst into our garage during the first Polar Vortex.  Out of 6 plumbers I called that evening, only Park returned my phone call.  They had sent 2 guys out that night who were very kind, and even had other guys drop off supplies that were needed to complete the job.</p> <p>Then a few weeks later, we had another pipe burst, this time on our exterior. So, I called Park Plumbing again.  I had this appointment scheduled and each time I have called, I have always felt like they are a genuinely nice company.  </p> <p>They fixed the pipe and handled the job with ease and professionalism.  I will continue to use them in the future! </p> <br />"

"For the past ten years, whenever it rained a lot, I got an quite a bit of water through the conduit where the water line came into the house. I put a container under the pipe to catch the water. I finally called 2 waterproofing contractors for an estimate. One said it was too small of a job and the other said my French drain was broken and they would have to dig it up. I found Mr. Fountains name in Angie's List and I called him. He was on his way home but turned around and was at my house in 15 minutes to look at the problem. He said he could plug the conduit and that would hopefully solve the problem. He came back a week later to plug the leak. It seemed to work because we had all that rain a few weeks ago and I did not have a water leak."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Sarver, PA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
