"Trevor Kuykendall & his brother Travis diagnosed the problem and did an excellent job remedying the situation. They cleaned the cable lines & performed a whole house 2 bath "Biosmart Drain Treatment." I have a 2 year warranty on the p trap and condensation drain in the garage & a 1 year warranty against sewer backups. They scrubbed the main line underneath the house and down all the roof vents. They camera inspected after the scrub and tested all drains & determined that all drains are now flowing properly. The work was performed over a 3 day period."

"Lyons Roofing workers showed up on time. They were very polite and professional. All the work was completed in a timely manner and during and after the job they explained verything they did. They didn't try to sell me anything but instead they told me my roof was in excellent condition and should last for several more years. Very pleased with their work and would hire again in the future."

"The work was fine and they were prompt. The garage is 20x20 and once the work started the estimate was adjusted up by 5 sheets, which seems kind of excessive for a job that size. But they installed the outlets and lights, which were not part of the estimate."

"We really needed the roof over our work shop and carport re-coated, as it hadn't been done in over six years. I asked for several estimates, and Erik from EH Handyman Services had the most reasonable bid by far.....very fair! Therefore, I selected him to provide the labor for the job, while I supplied all of the needed materials using a shopping list that Erik had provided for me. Erik properly prepared the surface of the roof before applying 2 heavy layers of roof coating material. The preparation included removing (and later replacing) some terra cotta trim tiles, and performing three-course re-sealing of the roof penetrations. The job turned out great, and I am highly satisfied with the quality of his work! While performing his work, Erik was timely, professional, friendly, respectful, trustworthy, very thorough, and patiently addressed all of my concerns, which gave me the peace of mind I needed! I plan to utilize his services again for some future projects around my home, and I highly recommend him to perform any work within his scope of experience, and he seems to be a highly versatile handyman! Thank you for everything, Erik!"

"I called to have my skylights repaired and while here they repaired a 20' piece of fascia board that was dry rotted, it turned out I only needed new bubbles on 3 of my skylights ( saved me a lot of money). I have used this company in the past and always have gotten the royal treatment in quality of work and communication. I would highly recommend for any roofing repairs"

"Mr. Tortosa was professional and always punctual. He did an excellent job, always staying on schedule and communicating if any questions or concerns arose. In addition to the above work, he acted as oversight for another ongoing renovation, furthering concerns and questions as needed. I would have no hesitation in calling on him again, and would highly recommend his work."

FAQs for heating cable for roof installation projects in Sasabe, AZ

A typical heat cable uses 5 watts per foot, regardless of the outside temperature. So, if your cable is 100 feet long, it uses 500 watts per hour. Expect to pay an additional $40 to $200 or more per month on your electricity bill. Be sure to turn manual cables off in the summer when you don't need them.

To install heat tape on your roof, place it along the lower edge in a precise zig-zag pattern to maximize coverage and heat distribution. Professional installers secure the tape with specialized clips that attach firmly to your shingles. This method ensures even heat distribution to effectively melt ice and snow while maintaining your roof's integrity during severe winter conditions.

Choosing between heated gutters and roof heating cables usually comes down to budget, appearance, and performance. Heated gutters cost less to install and blend seamlessly with your home’s exterior, making them a discreet, lower-cost option for preventing ice dams. Roof heating cables deliver more customizable and powerful heat along roof edges to handle heavy snow and ice, but they require more material and labor, increasing your upfront investment. Evaluate your roof design, winter weather demands, and energy budget to select the system that works best for your property.

Roof heating cables prevent ice dams by melting snow and stopping ice buildup at the roof edge. Ice damming occurs when melting snow refreezes on a cold roof—often right above the gutter line—and blocks water from draining, which can force moisture under shingles into your home. Heating cables maintain a warm channel that clears ice dams as soon as they form and protects your roof from water damage and structural issues.

Roof heating cables last between two and ten years before replacement is needed, wearing out faster than your roof itself. Their lifespan depends on climate severity, cable type, and exposure to physical damage. Consistent inspections and preventative maintenance—such as clearing debris, tightening clips, and checking electrical connections—can extend their service life and ensure reliable snow and ice protection each winter.

To safely remove snow from your roof, start with a specially designed roof rake, standing firmly on the ground and pulling snow downhill rather than climbing onto the roof. You can also apply calcium chloride ice melt to break up stubborn ice or gently use a secured rope from a safe vantage point.

Keep in mind that large snow slabs can weigh hundreds of pounds and pose a serious fall risk. If conditions are hazardous or you lack the right equipment, hire a professional to protect your safety and your roof’s integrity.
