"Forest Park Stucco did an amazing job getting the work done around multiple rain days. They were prompt and polite, very professional! The work is beautiful and there is no sign of where repairs were made. There was some new work that had to match the look of the rest of the 110 year old house and they did it seamlessly. I would recommend them to everyone who really cares about the end product. I work in the construction industry myself and can tell you this kind of quality in stucco work is hard to find! Great warranty too."

"Very well. This was a big job. Rick was the only contractor we spoke to that could both suitably restore metal surfaces prior to painting them and also offer a warranty on his labor and materials. He even offered to re-stain a three-story wooden partition for us at no extra cost. The project took five weeks to complete (quite a bit longer than originally estimated, delayed due to unusually rainy weather), but Rick was in touch each day to let us know if the forecast allowed for work to be performed. Rick was a pleasure to interact with and seemed genuinely conscientious about his work. Patio structure looks great and we’re thrilled to have it restored for many years to come."

"Kenny Whitelaw is the owner. My wife was happy with him and he was fine. The work done by The Renaissance Handyman does look a lot better. They did a nice job on that. The stucco work that they did was fine. If the price was way too much, we wouldn’t have done the job. I think the price was probably fair. It was pretty personal since we were dealing with the owner. We had no complaints. I am not the right guy to talk about the price since I always think everything is too expensive. You get what you pay for, but you never get more than you pay for. However, we didn’t get less than what we paid for. I don’t really know what we paid. I think my wife called a few places and they were available. It wasn’t a major job. They were really responsive. That’s probably how we got to them. We would consider using their services again, but we have kind of developed a relationship with a local outfit here. Kenny is not very close to where we live and I think he is in one of the suburbs."

"I have a small crack in my hybrid stucco.  I was nervous about it so I
called Aspire.  Peter came out that same day and rather than making up
some work for himself, he said not to worry about it, "don't waste time
or money." I thought that was so honorable of him.  I really appreciated
that honesty.  I would definitely have him back out to do work because I
really trust him.

"The company was referred to me by my co-worker. I called them to get an estimate on replacing weak floor boards from water leaking inside my bedroom from a window air conditioner. I spoke to Donna to set up an appointment with the owner, Matthew, to stop by and assess the work. We set up a time convenient for both of us.  The morning he was supposed to come, he was in a car accident. He was courteous to contact my job since he did not have my home number with him. My office forwarded me his message in an email since I was working from home. I called him later in the day to see how he was feeling. Matthew was very professional and apologized for missing our appointment. We set up another time. He came out and assessed the job and gave me a price. He did inform me that if floor joints had to be replaced the price would increase.  We set up a date for the work and his staff arrived on time.  After tearing up the old floor boards, he showed me the damage and asked if I wanted to replace the floor joints. He assessed what materials would be needed. He called Matthew to tell him the extent of the damage. Matthew called me about the adjusted price in which I agreed. During the repair, his staff showed me the new floor joints and insulation he replaced before he cover them with the new floor boards.  He also cleaned up.  I am very happy with the work and that my floor is leveled again.

FAQs for traditional stucco repair or partially replace projects in Schiller Park, IL

Minor stucco fixes—like sealing small cracks or adding fresh caulk—often wrap up in an hour or two. Larger jobs that call for cutting out damaged sections, installing new lath, and layering fresh stucco can stretch to three or four days because each coat needs time to cure. A pro removes loose material, cleans and dampens the area, applies a bonding agent, and builds up new layers, matching texture and restoring the wall’s weather shield.

Watch for a stucco surface that stays damp days after a storm, develops dark stains, or feels soft or spongy under light pressure. Inside, moisture rings, peeling paint, or soft drywall around windows point to the same issue. Any of these red flags mean water is trapped behind the siding, and it’s time to call a stucco pro before rot or mold sets in.

Give your stucco a once-over every spring and fall. Semiannual checks let you catch hairline cracks, stains, or damp spots before they snowball into pricey repairs. Keep a flashlight handy, look closely around windows and doors, and call a pro if you notice anything soft or discolored. Staying ahead of minor issues protects both your curb appeal and your home’s weather barrier.

A pro starts by scraping away loose material, then cleans and lightly wets the area so new stucco will stick. After brushing on a bonding agent, they build fresh layers, letting each coat cure before adding the next. The final step is matching the texture and color so the patch blends in and the wall regains full weather protection.

Think of repair as a patch: the pro fixes only the visible crack or hole. Remediation goes deeper—crews strip away the compromised stucco, correct the root problem (often water or mold), then rebuild the wall. If tests show structural rot or trapped moisture, remediation is the safer, longer-lasting route; otherwise, a straightforward repair often does the trick.
