"Veneer Building Stone was applied to our home foundation and surrounding front and back porches. Porch surfaces were overlaid with cement and a pattern was applied. A portion of the driveway apron was removed and new was installed to replace the damaged section, and the front sidewalk was resurfaced. All work was done to our satisfaction. The workmen were craftsmen, reliable, and trustworthy. This project improved the appearance of our home and is value added. We recommend Madison County Custom Concrete to those wanting quality masonry work."

"I got multiple bids for this project. Not only was Absolute Concrete's bid one of the lowest, more importantly, I felt like I could trust Mike to perform the work and do it well. And he did. My new patio is beautiful! His work is top-notch, he was very easy to work with, he cleaned everything up and was all around a true professional. I'd use him again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend his services."

"After showing up several hours later than promised, and too late to complete the work as the sun was setting and temperature dropping into 40s, then not showing up the next day as promised, I had to call to find out what was going on. Again the workers did not showing up at the time promised, but were several hours late, and then the work performed appeared rushed and was very poor quality. The seal coating completely missed a couple large areas of the driveway, the grass was not edged back from the drive leaving the edges of the drive untreated with sealcoating, and I was left with questions about whether some of the cracks that were not filled should have been (to me some of the unfilled cracks looked to be larger than 1/4 inch). I texted pictures to Tim of the work, and he had his employees come back out to completely redo the driveway, and he came out himself to supervise and help. There were many different excuses given by Tim and the employees about the reasons for the poor communication and poor quality of the initial work (previous jobs took longer than expected, worker's partner was at hospital because of sick relative, two employees were new with one that had no sealcoating experience, etc). However the final work completed was A+ quality work and looks almost new again. Received many compliments on the final job, and my neighbors had Central Paving and Sealcoating do their driveway. The company came through and made everything right in the end, and we would most likely call them again when our driveway needs another sealcoating, but we would do so knowing not to expect excellent communication and punctuality. <br />"

"I had a ramp built so me and my husband and dogs would not fall. The old steps was getting bad. I also wanted some kind of covering to protect us from falling. They had these strips and put them in the middle of every 2 boards. I ask several several times as they were putting these down. Will these strips stay and can we shovel over it and that it wouldn't come off. His answer was no and no they would stay in place. I asked if they would stay even in rain and snow and ice. And can I shovel over it. He said yes and yes and yes. Okay then that fantastic. No it wasn't. First frost, my husband fell down the ramp as the strips were coming off! All 3 dogs fell at others time just during frost and some slight icing. I texted him and told him my husband fell & those strips are not staying down. What should we do as he said they would stay. He suggested a roll of grip paper and cover the whole ramp and then staple it down or nail it down. I ask how much (thinking that he would honor his job). Said the roll of grip paper is $40 & he would charge me $100 in labor. A total of $140. I said no thank you, that was too much as we already paid for the gripped ones. Never answered me. So his work is not honored if something they said will work didn't...We live on a tight budget and we are elderly and I am so very upset about it. I would not refer this man (sorry) for any other jobs for anyone. <br />"

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Scottville, IL

Polished concrete floors offer many benefits with very few drawbacks. While issues like discoloration, stains, or imprints may occur during pouring, these are rare when working with a skilled flooring contractor. Once polished, concrete floors are easy to maintain, long-lasting, and eco-friendly. They also resist mold and moisture, making them ideal for allergy-prone households, and offer versatile design options for both indoor and outdoor use.

Polished concrete flooring is often more affordable than tile. It involves lower material costs and less labor-intensive installation. Tile installations require additional leveling and preparation, which increases labor costs. Opting for concrete flooring helps reduce upfront expenses and provides a durable, stylish finish that saves money over time with minimal maintenance.

While epoxy flooring offers enhanced durability and toughness compared to polished concrete, it comes with higher material and labor costs. If budget is a top priority, polished concrete floors provide a resilient and attractive finish without the premium price tag, making them an ideal choice for value and long-term performance.

Polished concrete floors last 20 years or more when installed by licensed professionals and maintained with proper care. Their enduring finish withstands heavy use and remains visually impressive for decades. Regular deep cleaning and maintenance help safeguard the floor’s integrity, providing homeowners with a long-lasting, cost‐effective solution that endures daily wear without compromising style.

Polished concrete floors increase home value by offering a modern, sleek appearance and exceptional durability. A professionally installed floor not only enhances visual appeal but also minimizes maintenance expenses, making the property more attractive to prospective buyers. This flooring upgrade delivers a refined look while boosting overall market competitiveness and long-term property value.
