"We decided to commit with East Coast Patios after seeing their work at a good friends home. Our friends only have the best contractors for their home improvements. We were able to choose any texture, color and shape of the pavers displayed in the catalogue at the same price. The cost of the entire project was competitive and included managing any obstacles such as moving sprinkler heads and underground down spout extensions. The cold weather conditions did not matter as Juan and Gregorio stayed on schedule to recreate our front porch and lay down the path to our newly erected trash/recycling storage shed. We have a durable and attractive front door patio, a path with garden border and bin storage that adds curb appeal and utility to our home."

"Mike (Cambria Constuction) and his men did an overall outstanding job replacing our patio in a difficult location on our property. HIs price to do the jib was right too. The only thing I wish they had done differently was to make sure the concrete did not stain the bottoms of our trim and siding. It was taped and plastic sheeting was in place but did not stay due to not enough tape a on a windy day. We would DEFINITELY hire Cambria Construction Services again!"

"Exceeded Expectations. I tested the project and the result was outstanding. Then we hired hired them to do a landscaping project to augment the driveway and they installed pipes to prevent water erosion. My neighbor saw their work and hired them to revamp a concrete porch and install screens."

"The man and his helper were prompt, professional and definitely task oriented. They did a fine job of lifting the walk and safeguarding the fiberglass steps that abutted the cracked area. They were very efficient and accomplished the job in just about 1-1/2 hours."

"Amazing group of guys. They walked me through the entire process from start to finish. Helped me pick a color that matched my house and reminded me of home (England). "Carlos & team visited 2-3 times to make sure we were ok with the various materials, and gave us multiple suggestions based on our budget. Ultimately we went with 1 dividing wall, vs 2, based on the cost, and we actually like it better this way. It was hot when they did the work, but they stayed on task & were very diligent about the work. About 1/2 way through laying out the pavers, my wife noticed there was a bit color variation from what we wanted, and so they actually picked up most of it, and blended it in with another lot. Turns out that even though from same manufacturer, some variation is expected, and it just so happened the 2 pallets were from different lots, so they pulled a bunch of it up & mixed them in, so the variation was more natural, vs. a dramatic shift. About 1 month after they were done, the dirt around the edge of the patio and run off, and so we called, and they installed sod around the edge of the patio (rounded section), which solve the problem. I attached 1 or 2 "in progress" photos to show the extent of the work. We are in the process of adding a pool, so the yard is in a bit of disarray. But the point of the recent pictures is 2 years later, the patio still looks great, no settling, no weeds popping in, so they did great prep work & it has been awesome."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Seaford, DE

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
