Customers say: Quality work

"If you need work of almost any kind performed, Pier is your guy to call. He takes great pride in his work and will make sure your job is done RIGHT. All of his sub-contractors for each type of job were also very competent and efficient. Pier is expensive. But we now have had him do 3 jobs to either correct work that previously have been done poorly by other handymen or contractors, or to do unusual work that other handymen could not do. And there were a few ‘extra’ small things that he did without charging us for. The current work he’s just finishing now was extensive and involved several areas. They include: Replaced many rot or termite-damaged beams and fascia boards. One of the beams was 500 pounds that ran along the entrance of the house. The new beams, posts and boards were treated for termites and painted to match our existing ones. Patio Covers: Installed tinted Polycarbonate panels to cover our front arbor/patio area and the kitchen side at the back of the house. We needed protection from the sun for our shade plants in those areas, and the tinted panels look much simpler and cleaner looking than the entire back patio panels that we had Patios By B&B do that were such a disaster. Gutters were installed for both new panel-covered areas. Outdoor Electrical: Convert our low-voltage coach lights to 110 volts, install new Coach lamps that we purchased, and added new LED bulbs for those and several areas of our existing outdoor lighting. (We got tired of our halogen ones burning out all the time). Front Patio Pavers: Fix paver leveling on two small sections of our patio. One of the sections had to have a huge root dug out and removed from a previously removed tree that had created a huge ‘mound’ along the walkway. The other small area was to correct the leveling of previously placed pavers that did not flow water towards the existing drain."

"If you want immaculate service and exceptional work done then hire Gabriel! He is so awesome! He truly cares about his work and you can tell. He makes sure it’s done exactly how you like it. I had some doors that I needed hung, but my house is crooked and he went above and beyond to make sure they were right. Then he stayed extra to put on the handles, which wasn’t even part of the agreement. Not only that, but he made two trips out to my house because he needed to go back for a different tool which was my fault, not his, without charging me more. This guy is amazing and I highly highly recommend him. I will definitely be using his services in the future and I suggest you do too thanks, Gabriel!"

"The back door of our home was from 1964, had a louver window and was completely rotten on the bottom. CSM fabricated a fiberglass door with low e window that opens including the frame and sill. Removing the old frame proved to be quite a task and once removed, the opening required modifications for the new frame to fit. The installation team was great - professional, courteous, skilled and cleaned up beautifully. Michael was very good to work with happily providing a quote and then altering the quote as requested. He even gave a cash discount on top of the Angie's List discount. I would use CSM again and recommend them highly.

"Chris did a fantastic job. His work is first class, a real craftsman with attention to detail. His price if fair and he honored the agreement. Installing replacement windows in an 80 year old house is not an easy job. Chris provided a suggestion for a manufacturer which proved great. He has extensive knowledge in window and door replacement and was a pleasure to work with. We are happy."

FAQs for doors (interior) installation and replacement projects in Seal Beach, CA

If your existing frame is in good shape, you can replace an interior door without changing the frame. This is a budget-friendly option because it saves on the cost of removing and installing a new frame. By choosing a slab door that fits your current frame, you'll save on labor and materials. Just make sure the new door matches the old one's dimensions for a smooth replacement.

Standard interior doors are 80 inches tall and range from 28 to 32 inches wide. Interior doors vary from 24 to 36 inches wide, depending on their purpose and the available space. Building codes require interior doors to be at least 80 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Knowing standard sizes helps you select a new door that fits properly in your existing opening.

It costs $600 to $2,000 or more to move an inside door. The total price depends on your location, the type of door, and materials needed to complete the project. Moving an interior door requires walling up the leftover space and opening up a new wall where you want the door to go instead. You’ll also want to plan for the expense of framing the new wall opening and adding trim.

Exterior door installation costs an average of $1,175, with a typical range of $525 to $1,800. The higher expense compared to the cost of interior doors comes from the need for exterior doors to be weather-proofed and they are often made of thicker, more durable materials. The associated exterior hardware must also be able to withstand harsh weather, so these cost more as well.

It costs between $300 to $2,500 to make a doorway wider on average. However, the wider you need the space to be, the more it will cost. Some homeowners choose to widen interior doorways to make the house more wheelchair accessible. In order to be wheelchair accessible, an interior door needs to be at least 32 to 36 inches wide. Also, some older homes just have narrow doorways due to the nature of how homes were built differently many decades ago.

It takes between two to five hours for a professional door installer to install an interior door, depending on complexity and materials. A pre-hung door typically takes around two hours, and larger doors like double French doors can take up to five hours. If you’re doing the project yourself, expect it to take a little longer than that, especially if you have little to no experience completing this type of project. Keep in mind that a pre-hung door can be installed about an hour or two faster than a slab door.
