"Masonry by Tommy listened to our needs and offered ideas to make it better. He offers the best quality work. The workers are very professionals, polite, and neat. Their attention to detail and the appearance of their finished work is the best we have ever seen. In repointing old brick and laying concrete slabs, they matched the color of our 20-year-old masonry. I would highly recommend Tommy to everyone!"

"Jim and his team were responsive and provided a competitive price. The team arrived on time and did a beautiful job in replacing the front steps and landing. They cleaned after themselves when project was completed. Jim followed up a couple of of days afterward to see if there were any issues. Would recommend for brick and concrete work you need done"

"We had a big water leak coming in from around the chimney in the passed few rains. The technician Gary from Select Masonry&Construction that was sent out did a great job he was able to detect the issue and get it repaired as he walked us through the whole process. He did a full chimney inspection as well and was able to solve the problem and serviced our chimney too on the same visit. Since then it has rained a few times and thereâ s no more leaks, the problem was solved at a reasonable cost as well as very professional work overall. Highly recommend for any of your chimney services, we are also planning to install a new roof with them."

Small jobs welcome

"I have used Milestone for several projects. First an egress window from a basement, then a patio extension with fire pit and more recently the demolition and installation of a new retaining wall. Milestone is everything you look for in a contractor - on time, on budget, affordable, clean, neat and they have delivered an outstanding durable job that I can count on that is aesthetically beautiful!"

"Roven took the time to explain the process and the details involved in installing Belgium blocks along my driveway and a flower bed nearby that was edged with old, crumbling concrete. He extended the walkway to my front door with stone tile and at a reasonable cost. The end result met my expectations and I will use this company again for other projects."

Customers say: True professional

"This company is absolutely great. They redid our steps, put pavers and borders on our walkway and re-stoned the front perimeter of our home. Tony and his workers are ontime, friendly, professional, respectful and neat. They are very hard workers and they take great pride in their work. They have an exceptional work ethic..The work they did looks beautiful and the clean up was spotless. We are so happy with this company's work that we are already planning our next project with them. Rustemi is now our go to company."

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Secaucus, NJ

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
