"Radon Consultants gave a very competitive bid for the work, so we hired them. The work was done as promised, when promised, and with excellent results. They took an incremental approach, which would have saved money. Our problem was about 70% solved by that approach. By adding additional capability to our radon mitigation sysrem, the remainder of the ptoblem was taken care of at a very reasonable price. Their total price was about the same as a competitorâ s price for the first phase."

They went above and beyond to help me with suggestions on what to do and through test kits I purchased online, I determined we had be very little radon gas. Although I didnâ t need their services they were beyond helpful!"

"Avert Radon LLC , specifically Chance, recently completed radon mitigation work at my residence, installing two systems. I typically refrain from writing reviews, but felt compelled to share my experience with Avert Radon LLC . I'm extremely satisfied with the results, as the radon levels are now virtually undetectable. Chance demonstrated exceptional professionalism throughout the process. The communication was excellent, and their meticulous attention to detail was also outstanding. Furthermore, their post-installation follow-up has been consistently excellent. I highly recommend this company without reservation. They are among the best service providers I've encountered. if I could give it more than five stars, I certainly would! "

"I have hired three Radon companies over two houses. Radon One is without a doubt the best company. They have an excellent warranty and back it up without reservation. Our current house is a Radon problem-it had very high readings when we bought it. Radon One has worked with me to get the readings to safe levels including several return visits. I highly recommend them."

"Radon 1 did a great job. We wanted to have our existing radon mitigation system removed as it was right by our new screened in porch and have a new one installed in different location in our home. The crew removed the old system and installed the new system in an area far from our screened in porch. The installation was done in an expert manner, the crew were respectful of our property, quiet, clean, wore masks and cleaned up after themselves so you would never know they'd been there, all in less than a day. The pricing was competitive, we feel like we got a fair price. I would hire Radon 1 again."

"Mr. Coffee is a hero who risks his health daily to help mitigate dangerous radon problems for strangers who call for help. This is a dangerous job with daily high radon exposure and when I asked, he said he is aware of the risks but gets his health scanned multiple times a year. I called Covenant Air back in December after noticing that my Safety Siren Pro radon detector kept reaching alarm. Mr. Coffee came out and assessed that I could probably fix the problem myself by sealing some obvious cracks, especially around some pipes, and recommended the products so that I can do it cheap DIY. He was obviously not pushy to scare people into signing contracts, but actually tried to dissuade me from hiring him right off on installing sub slab depressurization. Although the DYI route he recommended would've been cheaper, I hired him to performs the job. The sealing did bring the radon level down where my detector's alarm didn't go off, but I wanted to lower it as much as possible. He then recommended a passive ventilation route given my reading. The passive ventilation again slashed the radon level in half, but I wanted the radon level down even further, so I ultimately opted to install the fan after weeks of data collection and analysis. He installed the fan so that I could easily turn it off to save energy based on seasonal variations. He is a very personable and methodical person, and prefers to monitor the progress of his work so that his customers don't hastily incur unnecessary cost. You almost never see someone like that in the service industry, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. <br />"

"I am a homebuyer. I contacted the Inspector (Pat) through Angies list asking if he could provide me several days and times he would be available for doing a home inspection, and also for pricing. He was prompt in replying, provided both pieces of information requested, and also noted that he could do Radon inspections at a good price. His response to me was very professional and made a good impression on me."

"Project went very well. Horace and Vic showed up on schedule, explained clearly what they would be doing, kept me apprised of the progress as the job was performed, and walked me through the results. I was a bit surprised by the price for the work, but this was the only company that responded and committed to do the work, so I really don't have a good comparison price point. Note that the process was NOT mudjacking, but jacking and reinforcement with a poly product that offers many benefits over mudjacking."

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Sevierville, TN

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
