However, he and the person doing the measuring and quot;Neglected??and quot; To mention that they could not and would not put the seam at the sink (thus a 3and quot; seam)....as I requested but instead the seam would be around the corner and 24and quot; wide. Since granite has patterns, that seam is now very obvious. The installers were fabulous and did an excellent job but they couldn't disguise that seam. <br />"

"My wife and I wanted new hard woods in our house but had very specific requirements that we could not typically find locally.  My wife wanted a dark floor while I wanted extreme durability in a natural hard wood.  We did our homework and decided that Brazilian Walnut (Ipe) most closely matched what we wanted.  <br /> After looking locally for something that fit the bill, the flooring we found was either over $12 sq/ft (too expensive) or not dark enough.  I started searching on-line and ran across Brazilian Direct.  Their prices seemed reasonable (a bit over $6 sq/ft for what we wanted) and they even had a tinted (dark) version of the floor we liked. <br /> After several weeks of questions and further research, we decided to place an order.  We we worked with a representative named Sannon who helped us every step of the way.  She sent us samples, instructions, guides - everything to make us more comfortable about our eventual order.  Our order came right on schedule and the wood was really beautiful.  After several weeks of the required acclimation we had a local installer put the floor down.  They did an excellent job and we really love our floor.  There was very little waste and in fact we had at least 3 boxes left over. <br /> I highly recommend Brazilian Direct.  We are considering using them again for a deck project we'd like to do in the future. <br />"

"The estimating and quoting phase went perfectly.  When it came time for installation, there was a problem with one of the materials, it was ordered in the wrong color.  They quickly got the correct material in house to correct the error and keep the project on track. <br /> In the end, the installation was beautiful and perfect.  The installers were courteous, clean and professional.  The price of the project was reasonable for the product and service received. <br />"

"I have used several Granite Gold products and like their effectiveness because they do what they are supposed to do. No strong fumes or irritating skin problems. The granite counter top daily cleaner and polish are so easy to use (spay it on and wipe with a paper towel) to keep all your stone products clean and shiny. I was surprised to see how effective the grout cleaner is. I sprayed it on some dirty tire floors in the bathroom and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Then I went over it with the scrub brush they provide. It looked clean then, but when it dried, it was much brighter. This is a 40 Year old bathroom tile floor pictured. Granite Gold also provides excellent professional support."

"<p>Gave estimate in June. Selected his estimate over a lower one, as I decided the quality of the shingles was better in the Kottke contract. Signed contract in July. Said it would be summer or fall. In September I sent an email asking about the date. Finally set the date of September 30 for start. Shingles and supplies arrived on my front lawn the Thursday before - but late enough in the year that it didn't matter. My house is small, but has a fairly steep roof and dormers. Had a smaller than normal crew, so took 4 days. The roof looks great, they seemed to have done an excellent job, the workers were friendly and hard-working and clean-up was very complete. I have a lot of flowers and shrubs around my home, but nothing was seriously trampled or damaged. They moved what they needed moved and put things back in place. I was out of town the day they finished, but when I returned everything was in great order and the dumpster was gone. I had contact with Mr. Kottke through email to his phone - and he always responded in a timely manner.</p> Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend this business to others. <br /> <br />"

"They overcame problems with hidden structural features without any delays.  Electrical and plumbing subcontractors were excellent as were the flooring and carpentry people.   The only minor delays were experienced with the cabinet subcontractor, who was our choice, not Portside builders first choice. <br />"

"They were very professional, helpful and responsive in answering questions and giving us a quote. In the end, we decided not to repair the countertop and sink but replace it entirely. as the previous owner installed it and it no longer fit our decor. Even though we didn't use them to make the repairs, we were very impressed with their customer service."

"All was fine until installation.  One section of counter had a chip/dent larger than a dime in it.  The damage was there prior to installation, but it was installed anyway.  (unfortunately we were not there - a neighbor was keeping an eye on things for us)  Also, the dishwasher bracket was not installed as promised.  We called and installer and granite repair person were sent out.  The dishwasher was attached properly at that time.  The repair person made a "repair" to the granite, but it was still very obvious.  The area had a dull finish and was rough to the touch.  We called the company and said we either wanted that section of counter replaced or we wanted a refund of the cost of that section.  After many phone calls we ended up with a credit to our credit card for the cost of the damaged section.  If you should use this company - DO NOT PAY CASH - as you will have no recourse.  I absolutely recommend using a credit card.  Also, be home for the install and check over every piece of granite prior to the installation.  Keep a close eye on everyone to make sure all is done and done right.  If you do this you may be pleased with the discount prices of this company. <br />"
