"This job was completed efficiently and professionally. A design specialist came to test and measure every detail for the project. The crew arrived with everything needed for the job. They worked very hard to install Waterguard in the concrete floors inside around the foundation to the sump pump basket. They also installed Geo-lock anchors to support a block wall that was bowed. This company has 36 years in business and provides excellent results and professional customer relations. Call Amer. Wtrwrks for a free estimate. You will not be disappointed. A wise investment of $11,270."

"Price was way lower than we expected. The crew showed up as we were leaving the house for an errand and were gone when we returned; less than an hour. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!"

"We are very happy with the results of the exterior waterproofing Drew and his crew performed. Drew was the only contractor willing to try to accomplish the waterproofing task by preventing the water intrusion rather than dealing with the water once it was inside the foundation. They removed a 12" by 20 ft section of concrete driveway along the house, excavated a trench to the front yard and installed a "french" style drain along with rock and plastic lining. They also regraded along the front of the house using the same method and connected to the drain line. The entire thing terminates in a rock filled underground pit. It has been eight months since the work was completed and there has been no water intrusion from the fall through the spring. The entire crew was very professional. They took care to not cause any more lawn damage than absolutely necessary and cleaned the driveway almost completely. We were realistic knowing not every spec of dirt would come off without some rain, but they left almost nothing when they left. We will be calling Drew for at least one more project that we are confident will be performed with absolute perfection."

"We used Northland Coating this year to seal coat our basement floor. It will last for decades. It all started when we had some basement flooding and then decided to use Luxury Vinyl Plank on our basement floor. We purchased the flooring (special order so it couldn't be returned) and then started tearing up carpeting and pad. What a disaster. Whoever glued the pad down must have danced across the floor with glue. Circular patterns, waves and open areas - no logic. The pad was a nightmare to get up, especially where they just seemed to pool the glue. But that wasn't the worst part. The floor was so uneven with lots of valleys and a really high spot in the middle. We couldn't lay the flooring on that. So we rented a grinder and tried to even out a lot of it. It was too much variance. I started calling places to level the floor with fill. Either they were booked out for 6-8 weeks or one company wanted $6000. Everyone else was $2400 - $3000. Then I obtained two quotes for sealing the floor instead. One of the companies we previously had done business with came in at almost double the price of Northland. Plus they wanted to speak to my husband too. Seriously, if I am paying why should you need to speak to anyone else? Northland was great. Justin came out and quoted our project. We were originally going to have most of the basement coated in 2 phases since we had very large items that couldn't be moved out (a piano was one of them). There was one area we were going to leave carpeted but ultimately we had the basement done in 3 phases. Scheduling was easy. It is a messy project as they do some additional grinding. They try to keep the dust to a minimum but it is dust and gets around. Justin gave me a link to the supply company and I was able to pick a custom mixed color for our floor. You can choose from many colors or design your own. You can also choose the flake size. The supply company also had a tool where you could upload your photo and show the floor color in that space. It was easy. Choose some texture in the floor or it will be slippery. The floor looks great. I even have the piano metal wheels just sitting on the floor and they are fine. We scratched the floor slightly moving a heavy object but it is hard to see unless the light hits it just right. This is a solid floor. It has been months now and it is holding up just fine. Plus it is waterproof. Jake and his team did a fine job. They completed all 3 phases and cleaned up nicely. We do have seams at the phase transitions but you won't have them if you complete the work in one phase. There was some chipping at the tile transition to the bathroom but Justin offered to pay to fix it. We just negotiated the price down for phase three. I was able to fix it myself using some supplies from Ace Hardware and a YouTube video."

"In the spring of 2015 we received hail damage from a storm. We filed an insurance claim and began looking for a reputable contractor. Our neighbor recommended and guy that was recommended to them by a friend, as being one of the best in the business and knowing his trade. That guy was MIKE WALK with Over Under Construction. Mike showed up on time, knew what he was talking about and didn't make us feel pressured to do anything. He was there for the Insurance inspection, on time again, and went well out of his way to help us through out the process. He explained everything clearly and had the math down to the dollar. The work that was performed was speedy and spectacular. We continue to constantly get comments from our neighbors and strangers as to the quality of work and how beautiful the house is. Mike stopped by periodically through out the repair process to make sure everything was going as planned. also the siding workers were very nice and polite and also on time and worked well into the evening. They also picked up after themselves every day before they left. All said and done the final bill was the same as the quote, the work was great and Mike is awesome. Thanks to Over Under Const. for your work. And Thanks to Mike Walk."

"Work was performed as expected in a timely manner and the floor looked great when the job was completed, but now two years later when we are having an issue with a crack in the floor, we are unable to get any response from the company. We have tried multiple phone calls and e-mails over a number of months without success. I am very disappointed that they are unwilling to provide customer support and assess what we might need to do to keep our garage floor from further damage."

"We just had our garage floor repaired, expansion joints filled, concrete sealed, full-flake coated, and top-coated by Epoxy It MN. We appreciated that they were a local, family company, and the owner is a 3rd generation concrete worker, so they have a great deal of knowledge. They gave us a prompt and very competitive quote, got us on the schedule quickly and completed our project in a little over a day! We went with them because we felt they had a superior product, including a wide selection of custom full flake coatings, a lifetime warranty, excellent reviews/reputation and were very courteous. Their 6-step process may take a little more time, as it is more of a toughened commercial process vs. the one day residential process. We feel this process included a better base/sealant, and a visibly more desirable end product. We LOVE our new garage floor! Included before and after pics"

"Very professional from the estimator to the guys who dug up the basement, to the cement finishers. Their bid was much lower than others we got, but the system they installed was top notch. They discovered another problem with a drain pipe, excavated the area, and helped us evaluate the situation even though they knew it was not a problem they dealt with. Jack hammering concrete is a dirty business and they sealed off the area and cleaned up after themselves expertly."

"Once again, Colorstyle has provided my family with great quality work at an exceptional price. I first used them about 10 years ago to paint the exterior of my home. It turned out so well that they ended up doing several other houses on my block and the next block up because all my neighbors wanted to know who painted our home. Most recently, I used them to paint some interior rooms, tile, and complete a basement finishing project in a house I was selling, and a complete interior paint job on our new house. They provided excellent advice on economical but effective improvements for selling the house. They just finished removing all the wallpaper and painting the entire interior of our new house to include trim and ceilings and it looks great. They were accommodating of changes we made during the project and quite a bit of missing or damaged trim. They also repaired a damaged ceiling. They were the lowest bid of three we received, and the work was very good. I always recommend them to our friends."

FAQs for concrete flatwork repair & resurface projects in Silver Lake, MN

When evaluating whether patching can address your concrete blemishes, it’s important to assess the extent of the damage. Minor issues such as small cracks or chipped areas may be effectively repaired with patching techniques that restore the surface’s appearance. However, if you notice widespread deterioration, significant cracks, or structural weakening, resurfacing is recommended as a more durable, long‑term solution. A thorough evaluation by a concrete specialist can help determine the best course of action for restoring your concrete to its optimal condition.

The optimal time to resurface your concrete driveway is late spring. This period benefits from warm temperatures and softened ground conditions following winter’s freeze‑thaw cycles, ensuring that the new overlay bonds securely and matures to a durable finish. Resurfacing at this time also enhances your property's safety and curb appeal. Engage a concrete professional to schedule your project during this ideal season.
