"Everyone told me that home repair companies would likely be taking only big roofing jobs after Hurricane Zeta hit New Orleans and that I might have to wait a month or longer to replace a single missing shingle that blew off during the Category 2 hurricane. While it definitely doesn’t meet the definition of a “big job,” even a single missing shingle can result in potentially significant (not to mention expensive) water damage inside the home the next time it rains. So, we called our go-to home-repair company, One Man and A Toolbox, the Monday after the hurricane. It isn’t often that I leave friends slack-jawed but that’s just what happened when I informed them that One Man and a Toolbox was sending one of their experienced workers (Henry) out to repair our roof the very next day (Tuesday). Henry not only repaired the roof shingle in question but also fixed another errant shingle he spotted while up on our roof. Total cost: $80. We are so grateful to One Man and a Toolbox for their amazing customer service and professional quality work — especially after a hurricane. This company is a class act. If it sounds like I’m a happy (and loyal) customer, you would be absolutely correct."

"The work performed was outstanding. The existing front door had been a problem since we moved into the house in 1995. The original door installation permitted water to seep into the house. The door was replaced by some else in 1998. The seepage was greatly reduced, but we later found that water was trapped. This resulted in rotting of the door frame and threshold. Jason who owns Spectrum Renovations recognized the problems and ensured that the door opening including the concrete floor was level. He also selected a door with a threshold and frame that was not prone to rotting. The door installation was excellent, and the work was very professional. We have had several heavy rains since the door installation, and the seepage has been totally eliminated. Water is no longer being trapped. It is great to see dry grout against the door threshold. Because of Jason's diligence and carpentry acumen, this long standing problem has been eliminated. Jason takes the time to ensure the work is performed correctly and does not cut corners. <br /> <br /> All of the other work was excellent. Priming and painting of the replacement boards and door was included and this was done in a professional manner. <br />"

"I did not realize that paint can be mixed in with plaster for the final coat, so that there is no need to paint. Also, Jake and his son are so experienced and good at what they do that they had no need to do any sanding. The finished job is beautiful, with a lovely mellow matte finish. They put paper down on the floors so as not to track plaster and dust, and cleaned the work area thoroughly when done. I could not be more satisfied, and recommend this company highly."
