"I closed on a house that had wall-to-wall carpet in most of the rooms a week before going on vacation. I contacted Five Star and Ricardo responded right away, we scheduled for him to come see the job that needed to be done (he was very punctual), and did the work while I was away and the house was still empty. I had 2 other estimates and his price was the most reasonable. Since the house was empty and some of the work had to be done at night there were some minor issues such as a few staples (literally about 5) that were not fully removed and a spot that was missed due to lack of adequate lighting. Ricardo showed up to take care of those issues himself. Ricardo was alway courteous and professional."

"There was some fine print about only one color allowed for special deal, which precluded doing ceiling or doors or trim for special price. The provider was willing to negotiate and we were able to strike a deal to complete the areas we needed(though some will take place at a later date) Overall very satisfied with quality of the work done so far and look forward to completing the small areas still left."

"I was very impressed with this company. We had said when we scheduled the appointment that we absolutely positively needed the carpet installed within two days. We were on a very tight time table: closing on Tuesday afternoon, needed carpet installed on Weds, and then receive furniture from storage on Thursday. There was no room for error.
When the owner came to meet me the evening, right after we closed on the apartment (not Mike but his partner), he brought a selection of carpets that he said he had in stock and were available for installation the next day. All I had to do was say the word and he would be there at a specific time. If I have any complaint, it is that the selection was rather limited, but then again, beggars can't be choosers. So, I picked the color and quality we wanted. He measured. I wrote a check and told him I would tell him what time to come the next day.
Though there was a little confusion over who said what about the time of delivery (they showed up essentially before I had called to say I was ready), the installation went off without a hitch and it took a LONG time, too. I don't know if it had to do with the odor remediation or the install itself, but for whatever reason, the installers were there into the evening. Nonetheless , they did an awesome job and the carpet looks great.
I would totally use them again, though I hope this carpet lasts for a very long time. So far, I see no signs that it won't.

"The owners from Showcase, Dave & Eric, installed beautiful pre-finished Brazilian Cherry hardwood floors in my downstairs kitchen as well as sanded & refinished my upstairs bedroom floor. When they pulled up my carpet there was a huge hole in my floor due to missing wood. They matched the area with custom fir & after sanding & staining you could not tell! They did a wonderful job & saved me a lot of $$$ on new hardwood upstairs. As far as the new install, I cannot believe how my kitchen looks! "They were scheduled to come on Friday before Memorial Weekend. They didn't come and I called Peter (the owner) at 4pm. He was very concerned and apologetic. He promised to look into it immediately. He called me and emailed back advising that he had failed to ensure my carpets got on the truck that day and stressed that it was his fault and not his installer's, Olmer. He said they could not come on Satursday but they could come on Sunday or on Wednesday. Due to my schedule they came on Sunday (incredible!) and were professional and tidy, double-checking all measurements, carefully moved all my furniture (my husband helped with the pool table), vacumned, installed new pad rather than leaving the old, removed all prior material and put everything back in its place more accurately than my husband could have done!!  Superb service! Note that I have used Cornell (including Peter's father before him) for an office, stairs and a hallway (twice), a large basement (twice) and never had any scheduling problems -- I present this example only because I think it says a lot when people handle a problem well!

"Mikhael Kohn gave the estimate and tracked the whole complicated process, including calling a plumber to replace the sump pump and providing a referral to a waterproofing company, Value Dry. He was knowledgeable and professional, and quite responsive, arriving as early as 6:30AM to accommodate my need to get to work. As painful and expensive as a flooded basement is, he made it much less traumatic than it could have been. The teams worked quickly and well, taking care not to mess up the house. They moved all the furniture and stored belongings into the center of the basement, elevated furniture to prevent further damage, got rid of 4 inches of standing water throughout an entire large finished and fully furnished basement, dried everything out, ripped out drywall and carpeting. After the waterproofing company finished their work SI Restoration came back and replaced carpet and drywall, painted the entire basement, repaired cabinetry, replaced tile floor in bar area and closet where the new drainage system had entailed destroying tiles, and finally put all furniture back in place and cleaned everything up. The whole process was quite expensive and I didn't comparison shop as I just wanted to get the work done with minimal fuss. I had to do international travel in the midst of all this and felt comfortable having SI come and go using a lockbox on the front door. The only reason I gave them a B for price was that it was very expensive, with additional costs after the waterproofing team ripped out additional drywall, but overall I would say it was worth it to have a reliable, professional and responsive team and supervisor in whom I could have confidence. They billed 50% in advance and 50% on completion of the work.
