"Can't recommend highly enough, and went above and beyond to help us out of a mess caused by the awful contractors who poorly installed a new sliding door in our 100 year old brick wall. Bert had pre-removed the brick to expand the opening of the existing door and the plan was for him to come back and simply replace the brick. I called him in a panic when the door installers told me, basically, "Your door is going to leak into the house underneath, sorry." Bert said he can take care of it, don't worry, and had Dennis, who works for him, come the next day. (Bert was on a job and went out of his way to fit us in). Of course, the next day we were expecting torrential rain and 30 mph gusts. A tarp and other reinforcements were set up that withstood the storms and Dennis ended up spending days weather-proofing our new door before he even touched the brick. He even fixed the latch on our fence and cleaned up after the door installers! The work done was as close to perfect as I could imagine. With a lot of things that didn't go according to plan, they managed to make the opening look like it had always been there. Top-notch problem solving, exceptional attention to detail, expert skill, great pride in work, and complete reliability is what I found working with Bert and Dennis. We have a lot of tuck-pointing and repair work in our future, and nobody will touch our brick except for EMR!"

"After interviewing three contractors, I chose Ryan (owner of J&R) because we had a good rapport, he offered the best suggestions on project specifics, and he was willing to negotiate price (some) and payment schedule. He and his team (Reese, Jake, Andrew) were quite knowledgeable and professional, and open to my questions and requests. Ryan let me purchase additional yards of soil beyond what was needed for the project, at his cost, and had his guys spread it for me - very nice. Once the project was done, I discovered a few loose ends, and they were quick to come back and take care of them. The finished retaining wall and leveled yard look great, although I'm not thrilled with the steps (see below). Overall, a good experience, and I would probably hire J&R again or recommend them to others. That said, there were a few bumps along the way, some of which are normal for a construction project but others seemed avoidable. - The project estimate was 8-10 days but ran into a third week. One problem was they didn't reserve the equipment they needed to get started, which caused a 3-day delay. But even when all the equipment and materials were there, they worked short days. The first week, very little got done, nobody was there more than a couple hours a day. The second week, they only worked 3-5 hours a day - until the end of the week, when the project should be complete, but was only half done, so they started working more. But not once was there an 8-hour day. The project would have been completed sooner with more productive days. As a project manager myself, I found this annoying, esp. when the extra days impacted my personal life and business. - They didn't talk to me about how the stairs would be laid down the hillside, and I'm not pleased with the result. Not what I expected, and I hope I don't scrape my legs or trip down them. My older, existing stairs at the other end of the wall may not look as nice but are more functional than the new, $1000 steps. - The finish and cleanup was incomplete. They didn't properly finish the end of the wall (capstones), they dumped green waste and leftover gravel in inappropriate locations, and they left part of my lawn (their staging area) a mess - gravel and debris, damaged areas. This necessitated a return visit the following week to address these issues, which were then completed to my satisfaction."

"S J Consturction bid my fireplace repair at a very reasonable price. They arrived on time for both the estimate and the work. I asked them to be very careful with the existing roof and they provided a tarp and plywood to protect the roof. They replaced 20 bricks, the concrete fireplace cap, and the terra-cotta flu. They were polite, efficient and did a good job and cleaned up nicely after the work was done. I would hire them again"

"Matt called back quickly and over the phone he gave me an estimate for the cost of rebuilding my house's chimney. I had sent a couple of photos of the chimney. As he was coming over to the area for another job, he ended up stopping by and got a good look at the chimney - it would be easier to rebuild it than tuck-pointing it. He sent me a quote in email, which I agreed to, and he arranged to come over on the next non-raining day. They came as promised on the day, set up scaffolding and did the work efficiently. Good work, good communication and nice price."

"Sta-Built did a fantastic job on our projects. We interviewed 3 companies before we choose Sta-Built. All the companies bids were very similar in price, but the professionalism of Sta-Built was far beyond everyone we interviewed. Ryan came out and helped us design our projects. My husband and I wanted different designs and Ryan was able to show us what he thought would look best in the space we had to work with. So happy we went with Ryan's design. "This job was handled meticulously by Jake and his team. They communicated well before, during and after the job and made sure the materials were exactly as we wanted. There were a number of last minute design changes and Jake and his son helped us through all of them without adding cost or delaying the schedule....fantastic team...I will have them back to do another larger fireplace as soon as we can....great guy and extremely trustworthy...what all contractors should be...we have had problems with others in the past so believe me, there is hope out there when you work with guys like Jake, Josh and Ryan."
