They worked carefully to remove the chimney brick by brick and placed a lovely stone cap on the remaining five feet. They also flashed the stone and took the chimney down a little lower than I had originally asked them to, with no extra cost and no complaints. Prior to the repair my bricks were cracked, broken and the concrete treads were incorrectly pitched and trapping water against the house. Replacing front steps with Granite 2. re-pointing bricks on 4 corners of my home built in 1860 Unfortunately once the job started, we found out that the people who built the foundation used slate on top of the stone as a base and over the years the slate crumbled and the bricks in the corneers shifted thus becoming unstable. The solution, rebuild the base and reinforce the brick wall with reba. The job was done on time and for a fair price"

"After having been left in a bit of a mess by a previous contractor, we decided not to continue with it, we contacted Shamrock Chimney and explained the unfortunate situation we found ourselves in. Within three days, Corey and Frank had arrived to attack our problem. Corey was astounded at what he found; a torn liner, like one of those in a clothes dryer and dozens of bricks, some removed unnecessarily, scattered on the ground. He quoted us a price, not a lot less than our original contractor had, but we were in desperate straits and had no times to get additional estimates. He said there was a lot more work to do than we had expected and showed us why. He and Frank started work on Thursday and by Saturday noon had, miraculously to us, completed the whole repair and cleaned up the mess we had been left with. We now have two new stainless-steel liners and chimney caps and a rebuilt chimney. I rated the work quality as 5.0 but, having read reviews of other chimney repairs, hope the work will, last and have no reason to expect otherwise. As for 4.0 for value for the money: estimates of chimney repair charges are all over the place on the internet, so it is hard to judge. Corey told me he had taken our plight into consideration when setting a price. Based on our interaction, I have no reason to doubt him. In sum, we found ourselves in a totally chaotic situation on one Saturday, but by the next everything was back to normal or better even. Based on our experience with Corey, with Shamrock you have the luck of the Irish, not so much Emerald."
