"He replaced an outlet in our living room that had arced. He checked to verify existing wiring was good and just the outlet needed to be changed. He was consulted for a future job involving adding a dedicated 240v line, and have me options of using up an existing breaker box space or adding a secondary one to accomodate the new outlet plus accommodate any future outlets in the future. As business owner of his company, his knowledge of electricsl and his friendly manner was very impressive! 5 stars, all the way, in my book!"

"Very unethical company. Do not use them. Service tech spent less than 2 and a half hours on site. I provided the materials to install. They charged over $1,700 for less than three hours of labor and very little materials. Owner threatened to have service tech uninstall everything unless I paid the amount they invoiced."

"If I could give Apollo Electric LLC more than 5 stars, I would! High winds knocked a limb down in my yard, pulling down the lines from the pole to the house, which pulled the meter box nearly off the house, riser pipe completely off, etc. My mom who is oxygen dependent also lives with me. By later that night, I learned the power company wouldn’t reconnect my power until I had these damages fixed. I contacted another company I had used for other services with good results, their misleading AI made an appointment for the next day, which I later found out was incorrect and they wouldn’t send anyone until Monday, even knowing about our oxygen use. Apollo called me from a quote request I had sent out the next morning. He sent me a quote within minutes of sending him damage photos, and he was here within 2 hours. Professional, and kind. He even called the next morning to make sure everything was good. He will be my first call for any other electrical needs in my house!"

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in South Bend, IN

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
