"A window needed to be boarded up. I sent him a couple of pictures pertaining to the conditions of the window. Peter provided a quote over the phone. When Peter came out to do the work, what initially appear to be a straight forward job required more time than expected. First, the window frame and sash were dry-rotted. Instead of nailing a plywood board to cover the window, Peter drill a couple of holes near the center of the plywood board, using bolts and nuts, the board was attached to a 2 x 4 piece of wood that was attached to the window frame on the other side of the window. In addition, since the plywood can be seen from the street, Peter painted the plywood so that it was not too distracting when seen from the street. He did not have to paint it and I did not ask Peter to do so. He went ahead and took the initiative to do so. Bottomline, Peter took the time to do the job right and went the extra step to paint the plywood board. Though the job took significantly more time than initially estimated, Peter did not charge extra and honored the quote the he had provided."
