"Executive Flooring did an excellent job. Bryan, the owner and his helpers went above and beyond the flooring tear out, hardwood install, molding install , fixing some damaged sheetrock and tightening of the carpet. I will recommend this company to family and friends."

"Making selection and appointment directly with owner went great. Very helpful, took his time in showing us options and cost. I felt he gave us a fair deal and worked with us on getting baseboards completely. Our original contractor fell through to install baseboards which then put the carpet installation on hold. He made a few calls and a reliable contractor was able to get in and finish the next step. Carpet installers were quick, professional, and made the process head ache free. <br />"

"This weekend Footprints Floors installed laminate flooring and repaired the subfloor in two of my bedrooms. I am immensely satisfied by the professionalism of this team and the work that they do. Darwin did an incredible job - the boards are nice and flush with each other, with no gaps. Rob is very knowledgeable, fair, and conscientious, and has a keen eye for detail. He was extremely responsive and communicative throughout the entire process, and is definitely a man of integrity. I will very happily be using Footprints Floors again for my next job!"

"Scott gave an awesome price  for the replacement of one bedroom in condo that was destroyed by former tenants. After hearing my story about smells coming from subfloor since carpet was cleaned and odor remained he has his crew of 3 men show up in 2 days with floor sealant. The men I had very extremely fast, curtious, and did a magnificent job. I will purchase from Scott again for more carpeting in this unit. The carpet is of quality just like Scott's customer service and the fasted carpet laid I have ever witnessed in my many years with dealing with carpet installers. <br />"

"It took a while to coordinate the preliminaries; picking the wood, getting an estimate and ordering the specific style we wanted. <br /> The installation date was in the same week the wood arrived.  The installers, two brothers, James and Jeremiah were amazing. <br /> They were masters of their craft, worked quickly, and finished the job in one day.  Check thes guy out. <br /> Dave H <br />"

"She really helped us a tremendous amount and she has a lot of knowledge on the subject. She's been in business for thirty five years and she really knows her stuff and always takes her time with you. She even stayed after business hours to help us out, it's a good business. She even offered a lot of advice on how to keep the carpet clean after we buy it."

"It is a very tedious process but was handled very professionally. The walk-in shower installer and overall foreman did an outstanding job -- very professional, respectful, and very meticulous in his work. The job may have been completed sooner if he had some assistance, but he handled everything in a thorough, efficient manner. <br />All other workers (plumber and painters) were very professional in their areas of expertise. <br />Ms. Dee Inman, owner, was very helpful in assisting me with this big project (selecting the appropriate shower, paint, accessories). She is also very professional and ensures good customer service is provided."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Southern Pines, NC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
