"I called Waterproofing Inc on a Wednesday and we scheduled an appointment for an estimate for Saturday. Steve promptly came at the scheduled time and we reviewed the situation in my basement.   I told him of my goal to have a finished DRY basement.  He looked at my existing pump and drain. He suggested that I could apply (or have applied) plastic sheeting to the walls to help with the seepage problem. However, he doesn't do that type of work. He also asked me what I thought the problem was with the moisture problem. He suggested that he could extend the current waterproofing system along the entire back wall and gave me a written estimate for that work. The reason that I rated him a B and said I would hire him was because I didn't feel confident in his diagnosis of the root cause of the water problem and his proposed solution to address the issue so that my basement could be dry. I am looking for a one stop shop with a solution driven individual who comes in as a problem solver. I just didn't get that from Steve. He didn't even look (or ask to look) outside the house to see how the water comes off the back of the house where the problem is.  I'm guess if I just wanted someone to drill up the concrete and put a drain in, he would be fine because his price was reasonable for that work. But I'm looking for a holistic solution provider who will address all issues with the most effective and efficient techniques to keep my basement dry.  I just wouldn't hire him for that role."

The owner showed up at 8:00 AM Monday morning to review our needs and give us an estimate. I had only put in a request through Angie?s List on Sunday afternoon. That is a super-fast response time. They gave me a quote that was right in the range I knew it would fall, and he said he could have a crew on-site that day. WOW!
Good to Mr. Heil's word, the crew arrived about 1:00 PM to begin the work on replacing the water line between the street main and our house. This was the original blue polybutylene pipe which was used all through our neighborhood. They told me they had done several homes in my neighborhood... which Angie?s List had already indicated. They began digging a hole out at the main shutoff, and breaking up a small patch of concrete in our basement to free the old pipe. They then worked a cable through the old line to pull a new copper line out through the old path underground.
There was a snag where the original trenches my builder dug to run the sewer and water line through took a 90 degree turn from one another. The copper pipe could not be drawn around that sharp of a corner, and snapped. Not a worry, a quick second hole found the break, and they were set to re-run everything. It was very late, and I fully understood they needed to stop for the day.
THEY DID NOT LEAVE US WITHOUT WATER!
They connected a temporary line from the main to the house via the outside hose bib they had just replaced for me. That gave us full pressure overnight.
The next morning at 8:00 AM they were back on-site and ready to go in the misty rain. They pulled a new piece of copper through the block foundation wall of the house, and to the second hole they dug the day before. Then they pulled another pipe down to the main and connected everything. They were done in about 3 hours, and then needed to wait for the County Inspector to arrive and sign off on it. He arrived about 1:30 or so. After he signed off, they back filled their holes in a driving rainstorm. They also seeded the spots. They patched the cement floor inside. In two weeks they will return to check the lawn and put some more topsoil and seed down.
It was really a painless experience. Well... costly which none of us want... but painless besides that. LOL
I will certainly reccomend them to people I know. I plan to use their services in the future if I need any plumbing work.
