"509 painting was quick to return my call. The estimate was fair and reasonable. The crew Jason, Lonan and Randy were right on time, courteous and very easy to work with. Their friendly and positive attitude made it a smooth and pleasant house painting experience. They took great care to cover outside plants and anything else that might collect drips of paint. The crew did a good job cleaning up every day. They even returned to paint the line covers after our mini split system was installed. The exterior of our home looks great, one the best looking houses on the block. I highly recommend 509 painting."

"Aaron worked around his schedule to get our walls and kitchen cabinets done and was always prompt. His work is excellent, and his prices are reasonable. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Aaron again for any paint job. Verna D"

"We only received a quote for services...refinishing cabinets and refinishing our hardwoods.  The estimate process was great and very professional, but the price was double any of the other quotes we received.  We did not use them for the project. <br />"

"Initial site visit was great. Ideas provided by Tom for small detailed improvements were wonderful. Installation quality of veneer was ok at best. Many scratches, scrapes, etc. Trim on upper and lower cabinets was sloppy. Door hardware incomplete with missing screws and stripped screws so doors did not shut properly. Countertop install mediocre at best. Mismatched 2 pieces so grain pattern does not look right. Edge install very poor. Overall attention to detail (Finish carpentry) missing. <br />"

"<p>I gave him an A originally, but now, I'm going to have to nag on him.  His quality of work is excellent, however, he wouldn't come back and finish my kitchen.  Yes, I did not order the flooring on time, and he left to do other work in the meantime, but made a weak/no effort to return to finish.  I needed him to prep for kitchen floor installation, install the floor, replace the moldings, finish the kick toes under the cabinets, build a façade cabinet to one side of the refrigerator, place a cabinet over the refrigerator, and install handles to the cabinets.  He also needed to finish repairing some dings in the wall: texture and paint.  Each time I reached out to him to come back and finish, he always was busy.  So, his original rate went from A to D; I'm afraid.   If he ever would come back, I would have no qualms about the quality of his work, but since he is not offering to do so, I don't know how I could recommend him.</p> <p><br /> </p> <p><br /> </p> <p>In response to the owners reply to my review: OK, if he didn't want to do the floor, he could have made that more apparent, vs telling me he was booked out. I will find someone to do the floor.  However, he could have "offered" to finish the kitchen after the flooring was installed, with the work left: kick toes, façade cabinet; other cabinet items that were left undone, and repair the dings in the walls that took place during the original cabinet install- that is all I can ask, is that the other be finished by him.  I will excuse him from not wanting to install the floor, in which he probably would've done fine, had he talked to Home Depot, about hints and guidance, with his experience. </p> <p><br /> </p>"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Spokane, WA

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
