"Dworak's staff was punctual, professional and efficient. They replaced our hot water heater, disconnected kitchen and bathroom sinks for countertop and vanity replacement and reconnected plumbing after the countertop installations. They replaced the disposal in the kitchen. They checked out our water softener as well. We were pleased with their prices and workmanship. We would certainly recommend them based on their excellent service and workmanship! <br />"

"The kitchen faucet is perfect. One of the shower faucets needed a little tweeking after the installation, but Green's came right out and fixed it with no charge. I would definitely use their service again. We have also had them check the furnace and air conditioner and have not had any problems."

"Biggerstaffs are very professional and a wonderful firm.  Not only are they friendly, on time and fix everything correctly but they are also very experienced in many areas of the plumbing field.  I remember years ago they replaced a furnace and air conditioner for me and the when the city inspector checked it, he said they always do good work.  They certainly do.  I would recommend them to anyone.  They are always on time and know their products well.  I have 5 houses and townhouses that I would not want anyone else to fix but Biggerstaffs. <br />"

"Tom is friendly, professional, competent, and experienced.  He listens to what we want, offers his advice, and comes up with a solution.  We have come to trust his judgement and his integrity.  We went through a couple of other people before we found Tom who basically just sold us their services, but then sent out their inexperienced employees instead.  But Tom actually does all his own work, which means you are getting the benefit of his years of experience.  He is also very detail oriented, which is very important to us.  We will continue to use him in the future for all our home improvement needs. <br />"

"It went very well. After a bit of a wait, I received a very comprehensive report of 88 specific items as well as bacteria, fungi and particles. Each Item detected over the EPA drinking water limits had an explanation sheet. Also provided was a contact person at the company to address any questions you had about the report findings. I thought the service was well worth the $300 just for the peace of mind. I intend to use the company on an annual basis going forward."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Sprague, NE

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
