"Our soil is all clay which has the highest risk of damaging a foundation as it alternates between wet and dry. Even a light rain would leave us a soggy yard for days as most of the roof drained to the lawn via downspouts or popups. Water would collect at the front of our house because the front yard and driveway sloped down to the house. The builder used flimsy corrugated plastic tubes for underground connections to pop ups on the lawn. (One of flimsy tubes was blocked with debris.) Drain Designs did an excellent job connecting new commercial grade 4 inch PVC pipes to all downspouts plus installed two surface drains to collect water at the house front. The three-team crew (Rob, Dalton and Jonny) were courteous, skilled and hard working. They hand dug trenches next to the foundation against our home, carefully removing any plants which they watered and set aside. The PVC pipes were placed and securely connected with screws. All of the roof’s rain was directed through the underground PVCs to the woods behind our house. Downspout cleanouts for flushing were placed. The plants were replanted so carefully that neighbors could not tell that the work had been done. In the following week we had two intense downpours during which the new system worked flawlessly. No water pooled at the front of the house or in our yard. We highly recommend Drain Designs. BTW, their guarantee is a lifetime…not my lifetime but the home’s because it’s a Transferable Lifetime Warranty."

"<p>The work included installation of a backflow preventer and additional copper pipes to allow backflow to be located in naturalized area, a Hunter Pro C controller with wireless rain sensor, 16 Hunter rotors and 19 Hunter misters.  This work required boring under the sidewalk and under a double driveway.  The work also included approximately 200 feet of underground corrugated drain pipe for gutter system, a small drip tubing system for a small raised bed garden, a load of compost 50/50 blend for leveling and grading back yard, fescue and rye grass seeding of back yard with straw,  removal of two medium-sized crape myrtles from front of house, and the installation of an artificial rock cover and insulated pouch for backflow device.  The owner of the company, Daniel Baker, worked on site with a three-person crew.  They were very friendly and proficient, completing the work very satisfactorily in only three days.  They started the work on schedule, and returned to turn off the equipment and winterize the backflow without our having to request this service and without charge.  All the equipment works very well, and the system controller is very easy to use.  We are very pleased with the services provided and highly recommend this company because of their professionalism and personalized service.<br /> <br /></p> <br />"

"We used Grey Land Specialist a few months back to route a drain under our patio. The experience was so great that we called on them again when we needed concrete work done on our driveway and our paver patio cleaned and sealed. To the rescue again! Another HOME RUN by Grey Land specialist. Everything was done perfectly and exceeded our expectations on every level. The attention to detail is amazing, the follow through and follow up, outstanding. Our cement driveway and walkway looks better than when the house was first built and the patio looks like new!!! If you need concrete work done or your patio cleaned and sealed, call GREY! You will be happy you did!"

"We are very pleased with our landscaping plan. My husband and I wanted a plan so that we could work on our landscaping ourselves over the next couple of years. The plan provided a layout of all new plantings, and it also included a new front walkway and a brick patio in the back. The job was scheduled within a week of my call. Two individuals came out to survey our property and talk with me about our landscaping preferences. They have very good suggestions and recommendations to address budget considerations. The landscaping plan arrived via mail 3 weeks later. I highly recommend Design-A-Yard for anyone who needs a landscaping plan but cannot afford the high cost of a turnkey landscaping contractor. You will receive very good value and service for the money."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Spring Hope, NC

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
