"They were great to work with. Only hiccup was having to add fire suppression per county inspectors. The floor to finish was all done within a reasonable schedule and professionally completed."

Small jobs welcome

"I hired Tackle Ts to remodel 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. On Angis list sayes hes a lincend contractor. He asked if was alrite to park a camper in my driveway because he lived more than an hour away and i said that was fine. When i showed up at the house he had his girlfriend, their small child and a dog all staying there and running electric to his camper from my house with an outlet he attached to my houe. I was also going to see my son in another state the same week he started. I left specific instructions before I left. I wanted a wall moved to make space for a full size shower in the maste bath. I had pull string lights in the closets in 3 bedrooms that my grandfather had wires coming down to a light switch in every closet I wanted him to fix. I also asked him to take off the baseboards and doorframes in all the bedrooms because I was going to paint and refinish the hard wood floors myself. While I was on vacation he sent me a txt and said he came up with a better design for the bathroom and used space where a large vanity once was to make room for the shower wich left me with a 24" vanity with a picture with my closet doors in a trash pile. I told him to not throw my closet doors away. When I came back from vacation my bathrooms were framed out for drop ceiling, when I asked why he said so he can hide his wires, I said wires for what and he said his can lights. I never wanted can lights. He just did what ever he wanted. I wanted to fire him then but I felt like was so financially deep into it that I just wanted it to get done. He said his specialty was laying tile. The tile he wanted us to pick out had to be a specific size and and the shower floor tile had to be a specific design. That's like saying im a automotive car painter but I only paint red, but I digress. I would show up at the house after work and he would be working on his car on the curb that he bought from the junkyard instead of working on my house. He wanted to update my electrical box in the basement and needed to cut the power to my house. I also had a basement company doing extensive work on my basement. The basement company got done with their work and had a city inspector come out and the looked at what was going on upstairs and and told Tony that he didnt pull any permits for the work he was doing. He needed an elricial permit, a plumbing permit, and a structural permit. The city put a stop work order on the house. When i talked to Tony he said he was going to start pulling down drywall for them to inspect the plumbing and electric. When i showed up at the house the next day he was hanging my kitchen cabinets. Tony convinced me we could fix it by going downtown and I would have to pull the permits myself. He met me downtown to pull permits and while we were standing rite in front of city permit people he told them hes not the contractor, hes just my friend walking me through the process. Turns out he couldn't pull any permits because he's not a lincend contractor. I looked at the permit laws on the web and it states that the homeowner can pull permits, but he has to do the work. Its illegal to for the homeowner to pull permits and have somone else do the work. They threatened me with fines and jail time. I had to fire Tackle Ts as a contractor. I paid Tony a total of 36k after he gave me back 4k of it. All of the materials also came out of his 36k. Now im paying another contractor to tare down everything he did to get me out of trouble with the city. Not one thing he did was rite. All of the electric has to be redone and most of the plumbing. And since he had already cut electric to the house before he left, the was no heat all winter. He tore down all the shelving and clothes rods in my closets, im missing door hardware and he used a hole saw to cut a 2" hole in my siding for his camper. Worst part is if I tried to sue him im just going to wa..."

"We are extremely pleased with the work Joe performed for us. He went beyond the extra mile to ensure the work was done correctly and professionally. Our main project was to install a portable air conditioner in a room with a casement window. We thought we would have to replace the window with a full-sized traditional window. Joe saved us an incredible amount of money by suggesting, and installing, a much-less-expensive option that works just fine. Furthermore, Joe readily agreed to another project and built a new picnic table bench to replace our dilapidated one and shored up our other bench. Joe patiently listened to our concerns, asked pertinent questions, and met our needs. He was always timely and personable. We look forward to working with Red Beard Capital, LLC again!"

FAQs for handyman service projects in Springfield, OH

Winterizing shields your home’s structure and key systems from snow, ice, and freezing temperatures. By sealing drafts and tuning up heaters, you cut energy waste, extend the life of appliances and windows, and avoid surprise repair bills. A small up-front investment keeps rooms cozy and protects the value of your biggest asset all winter long.

Yes, it’s important to prepare your sprinkler system for the winter. Blowing out the lines and insulating above-ground parts keeps valves and pipes from splitting when temperatures drop. A quick winterization visit costs far less than repairing burst components in spring, and it ensures your lawn--and your wallet--stay in good shape once the thaw hits.

A full home winterization plan goes beyond sealing windows and pipes. You might schedule a home energy audit, cover outdoor furniture, service the snowblower, swap smoke-detector batteries, add outlet gaskets, and hang storm doors. Each step beefs up your home’s protection, cuts drafts, and lowers the chance of costly cold-weather damage.
