"Needed our wooden banister/staircase redone. Justin did an amazing job. It looks brand new and feels fantastic. Have a natural wood window ledge in our family room that needed to be redone, and large wooden closet doors. Justin is professional, cares greatly about the finished product, timely, reliable, and stick to his quote."

"Smooth as silk! Brad and Craig showed up precisely when they said they would for this one and a half day job. Craig did the installation and did a great job; he also left the job site very neat and tidy. Old plywood cabinets were refaced with beautiful natural knotty alder in an upstairs bathroom/laundry room and they look incredible! This is the second time I've had Classic Cabinet Fronts do work in my home (the first time was to reface cabinets in two other bathrooms). I'm considering having them reface my kitchen's dated-looking oak cabinets in the near future. I highly recommend this company if you want beautiful cabinets for a lot less than having new ones installed."

"Ken Miller stands behind his work.  when I called him with a question about 2 areas where the gutter guards were causing me some concern, he promptly addressed the inquiry and resolved the issue.  He sent out a worker the very next day.  The work was done well, as tested by the recent heavy rains. Ken stands behind his work and provides excellent service. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"The team was prompt and responsive. The job took exactly the length of time they had estimated, including the "jobs within the job" (the sanding was done on the day they said, as was the staining and finishing. Cabinets look great! <br />"

"<p>Precision Cabinets did a fantastic job on our kitchen project.  A group of cabs was removed to make room for a stove, along with a number of other adjustments and refinishing.  Travis and his colleague did a great job, on time and on budget, with a friendly professionalism that was very impressive.  I confidently recommend Precision Cabinets to anyone in the Lane County area looking for an experienced cabinet maker who does excellent work.</p> <p>Next up:  A custom eight foot bath vanity.</p> <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Springfield, OR

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
