"Why oh why didn't we call Star years ago!! Because of many previous bad decorating choices (especially paint colors) we decided to call a professional. I was nervous because I thought a decorator would make me feel inferior because of the current state of our home decor. Star immediately made us feel comfortable. Her energy and enthusiasm are contagious! We were concerned that our kitchen cabinets needed to be painted, but Star helped us see the beauty in our cabinets and helped us choose a color to compliment them. A painter hinted that we needed a neutral color in our living room, but Star showed us how to accent the color and we are in love with it again! She saved us thousands by these two pieces of advice alone!! She helped us choose paint for all of our rooms for a beautiful flow! She also helped us with furniture placement using our current pieces. Although our home is small, Star gave our home the same care and attention as if it were a mansion which meant a lot to me. She gave us a cool binder to put the paint samples and her notes in so we can take it when we choose flooring, window treatments or other decorating accents. I just can't say enough good things about Star and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone. I'm sure we will use her advice in the future. Trust me...she is awesome! <br />"

"Our 1994 home was in desperate need of updating. I was so overwhelmed, I had no idea where to start. After reading Dawn's reviews, I decided to give her a call. By the end of her initial appointment, we had decided on paint colors for our kitchen, cabinets, breakfast room, living room, foyer, upstairs hallway and master suite; discussed specific ideas for light fixtures throughout the house; discussed options for new flooring in our downstairs living areas; and gone over specific ideas for new living room furniture. We hired a painter whom Dawn recommended, and he did a fantastic job. I asked Dawn to go shopping with me, and after just a few short hours, we had selected all new living room furniture and several light fixtures (which was an amazing feat, since I'm usually a very indecisive shopper!). Dawn never wasted time and was always very mindful of our budget. She came up with quick, inexpensive ideas for each room that had immediate impact. She literally transformed our outdated house into a beautiful sanctuary that I'm proud to call my home! We couldn't be happier with the results. Our friends and neighbors love it - they can't believe the difference! Thank you, Dawn! We never could have achieved this without your patient, always understanding guidance! You're an absolutely incredible designer and person!!!"

"We've hired Small Time Movers twice - once to move us from one house to another, and another time to move a piano and various other antique furniture from grandparents' houses to our house. They were great to work with both times - they arrived on time, were professional, took great care of our belongings, and got the job done without issues (including getting a 105 year old piano up a considerable hill to our house, and by hand, since they couldn't back the truck up our driveway). They offer a great service at a reasonable price, and I won't hesitate to hire them again!"

"He drew it and took pics of himself doing it otherwise we wouldn't believe even drew it. It looks like a photograph. We've never seen anything like it. He's amazing. He has also hand drawn pictures of my wedding and of my grand father for his funeral service."

"Incredible isn’t strong enough of a word. This was my first time using them or even hiring people to help move and it was absolutely amazing. They were early, they loaded the truck so perfectly, they took care of everything. I am so impressed on every level for how great the team was. More than 5 stars. They made what I thought would be the most stressful day into a cake walk! Best money I have spent this year!!!"

"That particular company had been getting a bad rep before we used them. We went ahead and used them and it was not an insurance claim and they did an excellent job. They're competitive and very comparable to everybody else in our area. They're not any more expensive, they're not any less. They do a really good job, what they promise to do, they do."

"Initially, she wasn't timely with her responses and she set the expectation upfront that it was best to correspond with her via email. So her correspondence was pretty low. I gave her more other responses. I ended up giving her some feedback so she'll get better but it was challenging in the beginning. Their quality of work is pretty good like I thought she did a good job. I didn't find what my style was. There were some other things like if I had an appointment, if they have to drive out, they would charge me their regular hourly rate for their drive out to my home. So I wasn't willing to pay $90, the same rate that I would pay her to actually be doing work and so I thought that was crazy. Although, I do understand you probably need to pay a reduced fee, but you have to pay the full $90 hourly fee, I thought was outrageous. But like I said, she was good at identifying my style and then when we did have our meetings, because she was good of identifying my style, she was pretty spot on in picking out different items for me. So I thought that part was good."

"Last fall, while reviewing Angie's List listings for a contractor who does kitchen remodels, I saw Handy Mike's Custom Remodel listing but didn't called since I assumed custom cabinets would  be exorbitantly expensive and out of our price range.  My  husband and I decided on another Angie's List contractor who offered  prefab cabinets; we had chosen maple since the cherry wood option was too expensive.  The contractor insisted we needed to shorten a wall by 4" which I assumed was necessary in order to fit the modular cabinets along it without gaps, or something like that.  This involved replacing a structural beam with a longer one - a costly, messy undertaking.   <br />   The contractor's final quote was steep, much more than his initial estimates.   I decided to call Mike Bedwell after all and he came the same evening.  When I told him about shortening the wall, Mike said all we needed to do is build the kitchen out to the length of the wall - one of the many advantages of custom cabinets.  He gave us a quote on the spot.  Instead of  getting an anticipated 'sticker shock' figure, it was quite reasonable, especially for what he was offering:  a custom-designed kitchen (with no unnecessary structural alteration) complete with installation, and the cabinets would be built out of cherry wood, too.    It was a no-brainer - we signed Mike on to do the job.  <br /> Our move-in date was looming, so Mike and his crew had a tight turn-around.  In spite of this, Mike built a gorgeous kitchen that we are thrilled with.  I've been using my kitchen for almost a year now and love everything about it. - the functional design which Mike drew up by hand, and the beautiful cabinets built from high-quality materials, expertly hand-stained by his wife, extending to the ceiling with matching crown molding.  The knobs and handles Mike helped us select are well-made and go perfectly with the cabinets; the interior cabinet hardware, hinges and such, are of the same high quality.  Mike never cut any corners by using mediocre materials for any part of the project. <br /> Mike designed and built for us all the amenities a modern kitchen can have: a pantry, a spice cabinet, a cookie sheet drawer, two Lazy Susans, an extra wide, two-tiered  'gadget' drawer  (which I especially love) for spatulas, vegetable peeler, etc; a microwave cabinet, a broom closet with an outlet inside it for recharging batteries, base cabinets with pull-out shelves and wall cabinets with half-shelves for easy access and deep storage, pull-out garbage can cabinet, matching paneling on the dishwasher, a fridge cabinet, under-cabinet lighting (Mike recommended the electrician who did the work), and gorgeous granite countertops. (Again, Mike recommended the company to use for this feature who did a terrific job using quality granite at a very reasonable price.)  Mike even designed and built a cabinet specifically for my big, bulky dehydrator.   And, unlike prefab cabinets where an installer strings together a bunch of single boxes, Mike's custom building involves constructing in one piece an entire section of cabinets - much harder to do and requires real skill and craftsmanship. (Please note the first photo. The man pictured is Mike.) <br /> In addition to his artisan craftsmanship, Mike was great to work with.  He was very flexible and responsive to whatever requests we had; he worked on weekends in order to make the tight deadline (which impressed us a lot); he promptly returned calls; and he just made things easier for us.  For instance, since we didn't have a truck to haul our newly-ordered dishwasher from the warehouse, Mike graciously picked it up for us, saving us a delivery fee.  Mike may not have come to work exactly at the time he said he would every single time, but he and his hard-working crew always showed up and would sometimes worked late in order to finish the task of  the day to  stay on schedule. <br /> Coincidentally, the original contractor we were about to sign a contract with installed a kitchen at my husband's place of work.  It's nice enough  - the prefab cabinets seem to be of fairly decent quality, but, really, its nothing special.  On the other hand, everything about our kitchen is special:   beautiful custom-designed, hand-built and stained cabinets of superior craftsmanship with high quality hardware; and its very functional and efficient.  Mike is truly an artisan, and we would definitely hire him again.  In fact, we plan on doing so for other remodeling projects in our house. <br />"

FAQs for home staging projects in Springfield, TN

Most homebuyers start their search online, browsing photos of properties. A well-staged home allows potential buyers to visualize themselves living there. Staging can make your home stand out in a competitive market by creating a great first impression both online and during in-person showings. House staging presents potential buyers with a modern look and a neutral design that allows them to imagine their own belongings in the home.

Staging costs are usually covered by either the seller or the real estate agent. Some real estate agencies include professional home staging as part of their services to enhance a property's market appeal and achieve a higher selling price. Other times, the homeowner is motivated to hire a professional stager to maximize their home’s sale price.
