"We had a flood in our basement caused by a water main break. The water backed up from the meter into our finished basement. Zelaya construction repaired the concrete damaged by the water, repaired the wallboard in two rooms that had to be cut away, replaced 4 doors that were damaged, replaced trim in 3 rooms, painted the rooms and selected replacement carpet that matched the previous carpet exactly. Their work was meticulous and they made good suggestions for completing. They finished in the time frame estimated. All the workers were diligent and respectful. By the end of the project, I felt like they were family. I highly recommend this company."

"The provider showed up on time and prepared.  There were some issues with the internal wiring of my house (1930s construction) that complicated installation.  He informed me of my two options -- one was to have the fan installed, but it could not be controlled by the wall switch, or the other was to rewire the wall switch and the wiring to the fan to allow the fan to be controlled by the wall switch -- at a substantial cost.  I liked that he was honest with my about my options rather than merely stating it would cost me extra to install the fan, given the age/condition of the wiring.

"By far the most responsive and professional contractor we worked with.  Rain and other factors changed the date they could complete the work, but I was kept up-to-date with the changes and rescheduling.  Very good job with the repair, sealing and painting, will definitely call them again the next time we need exterior work done.

"I can't say enough about Metropolitan.  We had another service that we had used for years come out and perform our annual chimney sweeps only to tell us that we needed to pay $11,000 to reline all three chimneys.  We came onto Angie's List and found Metropolitan which was so highly rated so we called for a second opinion.  I'm so glad we did.  Not only did they inform us that we didn't need to reline all three, he showed us what a bad job the other vendor did with their cleaning.  It was so bad, that afterwards, he showed me how much creosote they were able to remove after the other service was there a week before.  
In any event, we had Metropolitan re-line one of the flues that was damaged, they rebuilt the crowns on the chimney which had completely cracked and degraded, and replaced the caps with an energy saving cap that closes when not in use.  All this for almost a quarter of what the other vendor was going to charge.  The team was very professional, and extremely considerate.  I am now going to use them for any chimney related services and I highly recommend them to anyone else looking for basic maintenance or anything else.  The overall impression that I have is that they were an extremely honest organization and I came to completely trust them.

"If you are a single woman and don't undestand much about renovation, Will is a great guy to work with.  Or if your partner is uninterested or too busy to help, he is the guy for you.  Will's bid was very reasonable and other work that he did that I identitied along the way, he also did VERY reasonably.  While I certainly believe his price was right, his willingness to work with me as a pretty uninformed customer was impressive.  He even went with me to Lowes and Home Depot to help me pick out things and would load them in his truck. Of course I did a preshop so that I didn't torture him too much!   He had to return some tile that was mismatched and another set of tile that arrived damaged.  He did it all without ever complaining and really made things easy on me.   He got paint samples and put it up on the wall so I could see how they would look.  He made sure he or his buddy Roberto were here if a delivery was coming.   These guys are great and a rare find in the DC area.  Plus they both like animals and understand the need to be sure they do not 'escape'.  I would hire Will again in a New York minute!  Oh, and the bathrooms look great!"

"The order was placed on 4/15. I received an email notice asking me to call, so I called them the next evening and had to leave a message. I saw that they don’t do business on Friday or Saturday, but then they called me on Saturday. I called them back that evening and it went to voicemail. I received a call from them a few minutes ago, but I will not be using them since I had difficulties getting the service scheduled."
