"When using contractors, I thoroughly research those companies who contact me for the possible estimates. On Home Advisor, I posted for estimates for popcorn ceiling removal. Richard Elliot from Select Painting Services immediately responded. I cannot praise his 5 Star family owned company enough. Mr. Elliot arrived on time, prefaced with a text that he was on his way. He discussed quite honestly the upfront the costs and tasks entailed with what I needed. Mr. Elliot must have stayed over 90 minutes or so constructing a viable option for my home project that some contractors would have considered too small to even take on. He wrote up the contract, reviewed it fully for my understanding, set the date, and negotiated a reasonable deposit for the project. Tony also arrived on time, prefaced with a phone call and text that he was on his way on the agreed upon date (which was only 2 days later). Tony worked diligently for 2 days straight without even taking a break in order to complete the job in a timely fashion. He was polite, considerate, and professional. He consulted Richard Elliot when running into issues, and even stayed 2 hours over the second day in order to complete the job as agreed upon. I am overjoyed with the results. The finished project is extremely well done by a company who others may not have even considered, much less completed with this much attention and detail. If you are searching for painting, ceiling, or any other project, you would be mistaken to not contact Select Painting Services."

"1st project: They did not purchase garage doors with key locks (as I asked)and did not use proper rubber gasket on bottom of door so that there were no gaps. These garages were old and crooked. I hired someone else to finish the work. 2nd project: Removed door and repositioned on another wall where there was set of steps to outside. Installed door but did not do adjustment and repair on the stairs. because they were promised to another job. They left my job for few days and promised to return to finish the stairs and suggested I hold back some money until then.($500) However, when he returned he wanted $2500 more to make the exterior staircase "to code"!! He knew the circumstances of this job upon the original bid. There is not $2500 "extra" dollars in the budget. I asked that he put the window back but he wanted to charge me again to do that. Now I am left with a door to a dangerous side steps. Was this ethical? Also I had to call several times to remove the debris including wire screen used to surround the railing. He doubted it was his but I assured him it was original to the deck. That was in 2015/2016 and I do not know if his current circumstances and or if the employees have changed. However, this issue still remains and done with the owner."
