Wayne Settle came out as scheduled, looked at the space, measured it, had us choose the flooring, and then gave us a price. He brought the materials out to sit for a week before installation inside the house to avoid expansion or shrinking because of the temperature or humidly change after delivery. He scheduled the installation on the first mutually agreeable day after the week, a Thursday.

In deference to our preference for not getting up extremely early (we are retired) he set the arrival time for 9 a.m., and he and two other workmen (one a workman, one a workwoman) arrived about 10 minutes early. They set to work immediately and efficiently, moving the last heavy pieces of furniture to one side of the room and then the other as they worked, as agreed. They had the bedroom finished and ready to sleep in by the time they left that afternoon, and returned at 9 the next morning to do the hall. The job is beautiful, with every corner perfectly finished, and Wayne without a reminder deducted the cost of flooring the closets, a change we had not requested until after the flooring was ordered.

All three were very friendly and pleasant, as quiet as people using power tools can be, and willing to put up with a large and noisy dog. We felt the cost was very reasonable for more than 10 hours of work by three people, and they could not have been more responsive. Wayne cheerfully concluded the job by fixing a badly-hung door that hadn't worked well in more than 20 years. We were more than happy that we had found such good people through Angie's List!

"I had the pleasure of working with PHF to install new floors and refinish my old ones. They have an amazing customer service, an work ethic, and leave you with a stunning product at a very fair price! I will not allow anyone else to handle my floors. Their craftsmanship is so superb, that we admire our floors everyday single day! IMHO, they are the best in NoVa!"

"Excellent flooring installation experience today. The crew was professional, they arrived on time and completed the work with great attention to detail. The floor looks amazing and the entire process was smooth from start to finish."

"Good job ver ver clean excellent guys"

"The floors looked better then when I purchased the house. Was really happy with the results and having them come back for more work and even want them to work for other people I know. Definitely recommend them if you need work done right the first time."

"Michael and Karen were fantastic. Clean every day, outstanding work, great product and pricing, on time. Unhesitatingly recommend. Call Michael and arrange a visit to see his fine work!"

"The staff was very professional and friendly.  They came to our home and gave us an estimate for the tile work and to have carpet replaced in our family room.  In the show room they worked with us to come up with design options and let us bring sample board home without leaving any deposits.  The work for both the tile and carpet was done very professionally, on time, and at the price estimated.  This company is one of the few that will stand behind their work.  We could of used Lowe's for the carpet at a lower price, but the price difference was not worth giving up the great customer service we received with Kendall."

"Great! He arrived on time, with the right amount of crew, tools and positive attitude! He was very experienced with Ikea cabinets and knew when we had purchased the wrong items. He also knew when to send me back to Ikea for different parts. Ikea made alot of mistakes and he knew that was common. He wrote down the numbers of the items i needed which was extremely helpful. He and his crew were fantastic and i would hire him again in the future. His prices were very reasonable and i appreciated that. I had two glass doors that were on back order so he said i could hold back $200 from his pay until they czme in. I called him on Sunday and told him i just picked them up. He told me they would be there on Monday morning to finish the job. Of course he arrived on time and he finished the job quickly. Of the 4 companies i hired to do various things in my kitchen his was the only one i didnt have issues with. I asked him to install the lights inside and underneath the cabinets and install the microwave. The lights were difficult but he worked hard until they were done. They make the whole kitchen shine! He was extremely reasonable with the microwave installation price. I asked him for several cards and already passed them out to people that wanted a new kitchen i told them he is the best installer i ever hired. He made this overwhelming project so much easier."

"The owner and helper were very professional. They worked with us on payments, and completed the job earlier than expected. They were very professional and take pride in what they do. We are already working on getting pricing to remodel the rest of the house! I would highly recommend using KDK in the future!!

"Wilbur was on time and did a top notch job! The only draw back was that a good deal of time was spent setting things up, taping and laying down plastic."
