"We met with Brian and two other landscapers. He seemed to be the most responsive and the price was right, so we went with him. <br /> He and another guy showed up and went straight to work removing the rock bed and burying the down spouts in our back yard. They broke for lunch and then started working on the front down spout. Around 2 o'clock in the afternoon he told that he didn't have a part they needed to finish the third spout in our front yard and that they would be back on Monday to finish the job. I was a little disappointed that my yard would be dug up all weekend and that I wouldn't be here on Monday to see the finish product before they left.  <br /> When I came home Monday I was pleasantly surprised to how seamlessly he was able to bury the down spouts and how nice the mulch looked. He redid the edging around the bigger flower beds that surround our house, put down some weed barrier and definitely didn't skimp on the mulch. (Although the mulch itself has faded rather quickly over the past two months from a dark brown to a light brown, but I know some fading is to be expected with dyed mulch.)  <br /> There was one discrepancy between the work requested and the work completed. He had edged and mulched around a small tree in the front yard, when we had in fact asked for mulch around our pine tree in the back yard. We called to notify him of this error and he said he would be out the next day to mulch around the tree in the back. Sure enough, he came out the next day with plenty of mulch and did the whole corner of our yard around the tree. I guess my only suggestion to the consumer is to be clear about what you want and make sure he writes the specific requests down. Otherwise he did a fantastic job. <br />"

"I am very pleased I choose this company. The appointment for an estimate was prompt and very reasonable and detailed in comparison to my other quotes. There are only three workers so communication is easy and I felt comfortable having them in the house whether I was there are not. Susan has a great eye for the colors and worked with the paint store to find a match for my outdated color as well as good matches for trim and ceilings. They were willing to do multiple efforts to cover a stubborn water stain. Tom does beautiful work with caulking and repairs. Another plus was continued communication about any suggested changes in the original estimate so that I was aware of options such as needing or not needing a second coat so that the end cost was right on target with the estimate. The finished job is excellent."

"Fantastic!!! They came out and pressure washed our entire house before we had the stucco repaired and repainted. They also pressure washed our patio decks. We are beyond thrilled with the results! The house looked fantastic when they were done. They always respond very quickly and are so professional. All the work was done exactly when they said they would. We highly recommend them!!"

"Rowland showed up 10 minutes early to do a walk around the house and explain what he would be doing. He took the time to explain the products he used and how the concentrate he uses is safe for pets (important for me). The whole process of cleaning my 2000sq ft house and a small 20x20 concrete patio took him about two hours. At the end he took me around the house to make sure I was satisfied. It was a night and day difference on the appearance of my house and patio. If you're on the fence if its worth it you should try it. I'll be requesting his services again future years."

"The whole process was relatively painless.  Jeff did everything he could to meet our demands.  A few things went wrong... <br /> <br /> The first day the deck was framed, the dimensions were wrong.  I was expecting to have to fight to get it done the way I wanted.  Oh so very pleasantly, I came home from work to see it done the way I wanted! <br /> <br /> The walkway around the pond was a difficult job.  Jeff's main carpenter reworked it 3 times to make sure that it was done up to my expectations. <br /> <br /> Even with a few bumps in the road, the finished product was better than I ever expected!"

"I chose this company because they'd done a neighbors' concrete and they were pleased with the experience and the sealant that was used doesn't change the appearance like most do. <br />   When I first contacted them they were booked ahead with big jobs. They could get to me by mid-June, but would fit my job in earlier if possible. They did, several weeks earlier. <br />   They cleaned my driveway, personal walk and patio, public sidewalk, and curb. Special care was given to the highly dirty/mildewed areas. I pointed out some decorative border stones and a repaired area that would be fragile and he took care to not damage those (or anything else).  <br />   They discussed whether the water-based or solvent-based sealant would be better given the age of my concrete (and the tendency to mildew). The solvent-based was used with special attention to those areas prone to mildew. <br />   They kept me well-informed re: what was being done and what I can expect going forward. <br />   I'm LOVING the clean look and also seeing water just bead up on top!! <br />   I didn't give an 'A' re: price, but it may have been competitive re: what I had done and the products/tools used. I hadn't gotten any other prices since I knew I wanted them to do it."

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Straughn, IN

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
