"Sean and Juan were awesome on addressing and handling the upgrade and repairs to the electrical issues to my home. They were respectful to the property and made sure that I understood and was aware of what was going on. My only issue that I had, was the office staff repeatedly failed to let me know what was going on or advising time frames for arrival. Sean made sure that I knew what time they would return the following day and let me know, they would not leave until I had power and a/c and job completed. Can't say enough about these guys. What an asset to this company."

"My technician Brian was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and shared that knowledge in a very easy to understand manner. He offered me suggestions for my concerns without trying to offer me products or services that were not needed. We had them upgrade our electrical panel to allow our generator to power our home. Brian not only showed us the process, he helped me to put my generator together and get started. A true professional and we will be calling him back out to install our EV Charger when the time comes. Highly recommend!!"

"Very professional and courteous. Services are ideally priced. We needed a wire run externally around the house for a hot tub. Beekman went above and beyond by working with the hot tub manufacturer and installing the electrical line to their specifications. When digging the trench for the electrical conduit, they went to great pains to tamp the soil back into the trench and re-install the sod back over trench location. Very courteous and professional, would highly recommend. Thanks!!"

"They showed up on a Tuesday, let me know what the problem was, fixed the problem that I had, and told me about future upgrades that I could wait on for now. They did this all in about an hour. They did a good job and had reasonable prices."

"Oscar Rosales of Right Pro Electrical Services was very professional, knowledgeable of the type of service we needed and was very organized while doing the job. We needed our portable generator installed using our natural gas hookup; he also organized our electrical system to handle the electrical service we will need in the event of a power outage. He walked us through each procedure needed for start up and shut down; in addition to giving us written instructions of each step of the way. We would most certainly recommend Right Pro Electrical Services!"

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Sugar Land, TX

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
