"Mike actually installed carpet for me in July 2014. I'm on Angie's list now to get his number to do my upstairs! He worked with his son on the installation. Very professional and save me a ton of $ by cutting the carpet in such a way that I didn't have to buy a ton of waste (Empire carpet would not let me do that an insisted that I buy a ton of waste). I can't see any seams in the carpet and after 1 1/2years is still great."

"Fantastic job! I am hooked. I have cleaned my carpets myself but this cleaning was so much better. I removed the small items like end tables, but the gentleman from Dry Step moved the heavier items: couch, chairs, desk. The gentleman who did the work was so courteous, patient, and very helpful. I had so many questions, and he took the time to answer each one. I also had a room that needs the carpet replaced because of the age and stains. He took the time to run the cleaning machine over the worst stain and much to my surprise, it actually removed it. I will definitely hire this company again."

"Once again Montie rocked it! <br /> We have used Montie numerous times. We only have 1 room left to carpet, the basement, which is kind of sad because we just love working with him. He really gets to know you, your needs, how you use the room, the traffic, the look you are going for, accounts for kids, pets etc.... and guides you in the right direction for carpet - quality carpet. He even called ahead to the carpet wholesaler telling them what we were looking into based on our prior likes/dislikes and when we showed up, they were ready to point us in the right direction and give us samples. They worked seemlessly with Montie to communicate square footage, padding etc...  Montie does provide the padding too and gives you better than norm at prices that are better than carpet stores.  <br /> We were unsure of a few things about the carpet samples we selected and had a tough time deciding. But a quick call to Montie and his guidance really helped us out and make a choice. And the result is awesome!  He and his crew do great work, are friendly, and clean everything up nicely. You come into your room and it looks brand new!  You can't see the seems, nothing ever bunches or looks raggedy. Just a very responsive guy/company, with quality work at very fair prices.  <br /> Extremely pleased every single time we work with him. <br />"

"Jim did an excellent job. The carpet is a berber carpet that had never been installed correctly and had numerous wrinkles in it. I thought it needed to be replaced but he came out and gave us an estimate, we decided for the price it was worth trying. He stretched it and cut it to fit properly around the doors. We're very happy with the result. <br />"

"The first pair of workers were prompt, courteous, and took care with my furniture.  They were very insistent that I inspect the carpeting after the job was done and voice my satisfaction, which I did.  However, when the carpeting dried, the pet stains that I wanted removed were still visible. <br /> I called and they sent out a second team to re-clean the stained areas.  This team was not as courteous and did not move my furniture back when they were done (even after I mentioned that I could not do it myself due to recent surgery). <br /> The second team was not able to do anything to help the stains, and simply had an 'oh,well' attitude, and left. <br /> I called the company the next day, and they explained that there are no guarantees on pet stains.  I didn't find this in writing anywhere and have hired other professional carpet cleaners who were able to get the same types of stains out the first time with no issues. <br /> I would not use this company again.  If you have pets, I recommend Master Clean.  Cheaper and better quality work.  I will be hiring them to complete the job that Martin didn't finish. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Sunbury, OH

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
